Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaWell, I know that it's a dorm, so not much was expected. But, in a room with 8 people and 1 tiny washroom (No common floor washroom) and 1 fan. How to decide who gets it? Otherwise the beds and amenities were clean.
The location was perfect. Walkable to any nearby attractions.

United KingdomThe communal showers looked quite dirty so we avoided using them - we didn’t have any appropriate footwear to go in them with.
The staff were really welcoming and friendly! Lucas at reception was great. The beds were also really comfy.

United KingdomCould do with a hand drying for sink use. Shower cubicles could use a spruce up.
Staff very helpful. Pip checked me in and gave all information needed to make my stay easy. Value for money given Fringe still in full swing, and the 55,000 extra folk (me included) for the ACDC concert at Murrayfield. Every other option seemed to be £350 plus! Location great as halfway between city and Murrayfield. Showers hot and bathroom clean.

Irelandno secure locker or drawer in the room to store bags. Cramped room with no area for bags and no curtanis on beds. Quite exposed. Everyone keeps to themselevs, not a place to go if your're looking to meet people and looking for a place to make friends. Breakfast looked poor.
Very clean and quiet. good location.

ArgentinaThree tier beds. There room was very big so it wasn't necessary to have those beds. The bottom bunk bed is near the floor level and third is too high to reach. Also they didn't store your luggage you had to leave it in the café and hope for the best.
It was quiet, my roommates were nice and it was clean. It's a bit far from the city centre

SpainThere was only one toilet and one shower in a room for 12 people and there was no door to separate them from the room so we could hear people showering at night when we were trying to sleep
The hotel is very well located and clean. Staff is very kind, resourceful and full of tips! Specially Lukas, he helped me with every question I had and even gave me some local tips. I had a great time there and would definitely recommend to anyone!

New ZealandBathroom was very dirty and the floor was giving way in one of the showers. There were a lot of guests using one bathroom so it would be beneficial for the hotel to have a cleaner morning and evening.
Staff were great. Accomodation is on a quiet street and you will need to use public transport to get to the centre. Allowed luggage storage for free. Best value for what the accomodation is.

IrelandThere is no dress hanger. No fans, so room can get hot. In a 6 bed room, please provide more than 2 chairs. Also there is no under the bed shelves for luggage, many hostels do have that. It's a hostel, tenants behaviour could be a real put off. There was one guy who was cooking there the entire evening. He made a 3 course meal FFS all for himself. He also wasted some of it. Every time I went there I had to ask him to move or interact. There must be some periodic checking by the staff to make sure people are not abusing the amenities and making it awkward for others.
Friendly staff Cutlery packed kitchen Ok ok toilets. Good for value.

New ZealandThe cleaning could do with improvement. In the 3 nights I was there I didn’t see anyone had cleaned the bathroom. The shower drain was clogged with hair that I cleaned myself so the water would drain away. Rubbish was removed but that was the extent of the cleaning. The room was very hot & one small fan did nothing to make it more comfortable for sleep. The mattress was old and very uncomfortable. Bunks were 3 high and very little head space between the beds so it made sitting up awkward trying not to bang my head. Being metal framing you felt when someone moved in the bunks above. Also too many beds in the room (10) and only 1 shower and 1 toilet. It meant there was a queue for the bathroom in the mornings.
Location is good. It’s not in the Old Town but very easy to get to. Close to centre. Good transport links. Friendly staff.

PolandThe room was very hot, the cables in the bathroom were sticking out of walls. The bunk beds are very low (three in a row), you can't really sit on it, and the room is really small for 9 people. There's no space to keep your stuff, there are literally ZERO shelves. Especially the bathroom could use some.
Relatively close to the city centre, quiet neighbourhood and close to the airlink bus station, the hostel is clean, there is no problem with leaving the bags before the check-in, really friendly service. Generally, a good option for one short night.

United KingdomThe hotel was getting a revamp, with most of it updated. Still a bit to do. Toilet didn't have a mirror on the wall yet but think that was going to be done as the mirror was there. Ladders up to bunks needed some sort of tread as it hurt your feet when climbing up.
Hotel was close to murrayfield. A lot cheaper than other hotels around about. We knew we were going to be in a bed pod with other people in the pods beside us. 4 pods to one bathroom. Room was modern.
