2 days before arrival, I upgraded for an extra cost to a room with a king size bed. We ended up in a garden room (Downstairs) of which I am certain did not have a king size bed, as I am 5ft 9 and my partner is 6ft 1, BUT, this would not stop us from staying again, this being our 3rd time.

Home cooked breakfast, of your choice. Cereals, fruit juice and toast. Showers in the room are fab, and the place is spotless. Geoff and the team are really welcoming and very helpful. 5 mins from the beaches and coastal areas. Great drive up to Sunderland and Roker etc

The, white house staff were extremely helpful on our way up due to traffic, they gave me the pin code to get in and gave me my key to the room once inside the hotel, every morning was breakfast and drinks, Very friendly and family atmosphere

I managed to book the only room without a walk-in shower and that's what I needed with my knee so I was really disappointed. I feel it should say when booking that room that it has a shower over a bath. I pre booked breakfast in my room with the owner when I checked in. But it didn't arrive on the agreed time, and they seemed to think i was going to the dining room so breakfast was late to my room, with no butter for my toast, no sauce, no cup for my tea and the poached egg was under cooked. I didn't have time to have this corrected as I was now late for work. I also found pulling my suitcase over the large gravel difficult with my stick in one hand.

Room was next to reception so no steps and not far to walk as I have mobility issues. Bed comfortable

Geoff and Alan are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Great base for exploring the region.Only 15 minutes from Seaham. Great price and a hearty breakfast thrown in also. Will definitely visit again

The bed was too soft but that's just a personal preference!

The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, hot & tasty and they serviced 'proper' coffee not instant 😁👍 Great shower. There is plenty of free on site parking. Just a 1 night stay.

Hotel is spotless and very close to the coast. The owner, Geoff, has a great attitude. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty. Would recommend without hesitation.

Across from the hotel there was a large park area and there were a lot of teens hanging about, some zooming about on quad bikes and motorcross bikes. They did move on about 22:00 but the constant engine noises were a bit distracting till they went away. The gathering of the kids was not an issue, just the engine noises. V8's would have been fine lol.

Nice old building that has been renovated. I had booked the wrong night stupidly but the staff were able to accommodate me and were very nice. Room was lovely. Good bed, TV, wi-fi, shower and had a fridge in it too. Lovely bay windows.

There was nothing you could fault.

The hotel was beautifully decorated,the room was comfortable with everything you need and spotless. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked each morning. The staff were friendly and enjoyed the chat with the proprietor. Would recommend 100%. Will certainly return.

Perfect quiet location, amazing what they have done with the place a full refurbished clean hotel. Rachel was so down to earth,so friendly and polite...also a Perfect wedding venue, we will be back 😃 😊 thank you for looking after us 😊
