Nice to have a free glass of wine provided in the room. Great information on local walking directions from the pub, plus a Medieval Church across the road. The whole pub had a classic Medieval historic feell with exposed beams and fireplaces, and steep narrow staircase to upper rooms and huge Victorian bath. Food was really creative chef quality butnotexpensive. Staff were very helpful. I'd highly recommend staying.

Breakfast isn’t served until 9.30, which could be a problem if you wanted an early start to get to the Tunnel, but they do offer a hamper to take with you instead.

A seriously quirky very old (16th century?) inn in an attractive rural location. Wonderfully over the top comfortable and well-equipped bedroom festooned with pictures and gilt-framed mirrors, a roll top bath and complimentary sweet sherry-like drink. Nice dinner and wonderful breakfast. Well placed for access to the Channel Tunnel.

The service at breakfast wasn’t as great - had to wait a while to be served, though the breakfast did taste nice.

Place was lovely, room was cosy, clean and full of character. Loved the bath and twin sinks. We are in the restaurant downstairs and the dinner was delicious - would recommend the ham, egg and chips!

We really liked pretty much everything. My room had an emergency exit sign inside with a very bright green light that stays on when the rest of the room lights are turned on. I sleep with a mask so I was okay, but this might bother others.

Beautiful old pub in an idyllic country setting. The rooms are up small, steep and rickety stairs (very charming but an fyi if you're unsteady on your feet). The rooms are super comfortable and beautifully presented. All the little details have been thought of with coffee, water, nice products, robes e.t.c in the room.

Great place to stay and eat. Parking is limited and although not the fault of the inn my van was parked in the lane outside and was damaged by another vehicle.Because of this I probably would look elsewhere.

The only fault was ours - and that was us not booking a longer stay -

Where do I start - really lovely, friendly staff very attentive- evening food was delicious including breakfast served hot and quick - our beautiful room (honeychild) was so so cute , it felt like home , lots of lovely touches , radio was on which was welcoming and a complementary drink left - all facilities where there, you would not want to take anything, lovely dressing gowns on door too -❤️will definitely be booking again , I cannot wait to go back - well done and thankyou woolpack

The only real very minor down would be there isn’t a lot of parking although you can park outside the pub (on the main road which is very quiet)which we did and our car was totally fine

Great quirky comfortable rooms friendly staff and all set in wonderful surroundings the breakfast is amazing our 2 stays have both been wonderful won’t hesitate to book again

    Nothing

The room decor was so luxurious and extravagant. They thought of every little thing you might like. Like a lit fire in your room. A bathtub in the middle of the room, bath robes to. To a water bottle. The staff was so welcoming and the food delicious

I dont recall there being any mention of 2 very rickety narrow staircases to get to the rooms we booked (which were the last 2). My elderly mother struggled. The floor boards were very creaky and downstairs snoring kept me awake.

Breakfast was fab, service was good. Bed was very comfy and there were good supplies of things.
