Love the bed, the room, cleans, decorate well and overlooking the countryside outside window. The food were great, a well cook vegetarian breakfast with eggs, choices of home made jams such as prunes, marmalade, black current and cereals. We enjoy safari touring gardens that Elaine organises for us...the gardens was so big..you must see it to enjoy it. Elaine has 4 cats and they are around the house and very cute.

There was nothing to dislike.

We were made to feel very welcome in this peaceful rural location. On arrival the host served tea and cake in her lovely garden and after a good night's sleep we enjoyed a hearty breakfast the next morning.

There is nothing that we did not like about our visit there. The hostess has numerous cats which are so beautifully behaved and quiet and just add to the serenity of the home.

The breakfast was really good and the hostess welcomed us with tea and homemade cake upon our arrival. She is such a kind and lovely lady. She adores her cats and they are very friendly, loving and well behaved. The location is outstanding and the gardens are kept immaculately. There is a very special walk which you are invited to do, so to help appreciate the expanse and beauty of the grounds. We loved the bed and the views from all the windows. Parking is on site and such a great location to get to walks and to visit other areas. There is memorabilia from all over the world to be admired and the decor of the house is stunning.

We loved our stay at Thornley House and were made to feel very welcome from the outset. Especially if you like cats then you are in for a treat, but the peaceful location, beautiful garden and delicious breakfasts are sure to appeal to all.

We worried about being noisy since it was a home but it wasn’t an actual problem.

Great location, parking, clean and comfortable room and a friendly host. The house was full of curious decor and collectibles plus some cats but they sadly stayed away. We were desperate to meet them.

No gripes really, apart from it being a bit confusing to find. Not recommended if you have an allergy to cats, but if you're a fan you'll love the place.

Lovely B&B which is very well positioned for exploring the beautiful area around Hexham. Delightful host with an eclectic collection of travel mementoes and cats. Room was very comfortable and spacious, altogether an interesting and pleasant stay.

A little cold in the morning, but fine as the weather has significantly changed over the past week.

Lovely Hostess, with interesting conversation about her travels. Great breakfast. Clean room and bathroom. We especially enjoyed meeting Eileen's Main Coon Cats and her little Ginger Tom. Had a fun Safari round the garden. Beautiful and interesting decor. Pretty surroundings countryside. A wonderful stay!

I had no complaints

The house was beautiful. Run by a woman on her own who made us feel so welcome. It’s a cat friendly hotel but the cats keep to themselves. The house is spotless and is full of amazing objects gathered from around the world. Would definitely recommend.

Opening the doors of the bathroom at night without making a sound was challenging!

This quaint B&B is in a stunning rural location in the picturesque area of Hexham. It provides a homely atmosphere for the traveller. Watching the sheep grazing in the adjoining fields on wake up was good for the soul. A real treat in the beautiful part of Hexham.

Our host was so lovely and accommodating for our stay, her house is beautiful and she encouraged us to go on a little safari around the grounds to meet all of her beautiful cats! It was so quirky and cute! The host also made us a full cooked breakfast in the morning! It was lovely!

Didn't like leaving we wanted to stay longer.

Loved the location, so peaceful and pretty. Loved the host, Eileen was friendly helpful and such an interesting well travelled person. Loved the cats even though we only met 4 out of 5 of them.

There was nothing to dislike.

Breakfast was lovely and very tasty. Eileen has a number of beautiful cats who share her home. We like cats and they didn’t bother us, they’re very well mannered and friendly without being fussy. The house is beautiful and very clean. Beds comfy and beautiful linen. The grounds are immaculately kept and there was even a “safari” which we did on the morning we left.

Breakfast excellent choice Eileen looked after us so well starting with tea and cake in the beautiful garden we met her 5 lovely cats. Ideal place for touring Hadrian's wall we really enjoyed our stay . Thank you

Nothing at all

Very welcoming with tea and cake on arrival. Sofa in the room which was a bonus, the room was very comfortable with space for the dog bed. The dog was made very welcome with a field next door to walk her. Beautiful gardens and lovely breakfast. No extra charge for the dog which was a bonus.

The cats, the cats and the cats! Lovely garden to explore. Such an interesting place to stay. House was spotlessly clean, tasty ample breakfast. Eileen and Shirley were very friendly. Lovely cake on arrival.
