The bathroom, while serviceable, could do with an upgrade.

It was spectacular inside, so beautifully furnished . Well equipped and comfortable in glorious countryside with a wild and interesting garden.

Despite such a beautiful location, I would have loved a proper outside space to sit out in . Narrow terrace which is being renovated, so should look great when done. When arrived, we didn't get the wow factor until we stepped inside.

So incredibly spacious! A lot of rooms and space for the money.. Amazing views from every window. A dated but unique apartment with some nice original features and furniture...yet all you will need modern comforts. Bedding and towels smelt great. Good communication with Host.

There was nothing that I did not like.

I recently stayed at this Tranquil gateway near Brecon Beacons National Park, and it was everything I had hoped for—and more. Tucked away in a quiet location, the place offers the perfect balance between peaceful seclusion and easy access to the stunning Welsh countryside. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of calm. The space is thoughtfully decorated, clean, and cosy, with all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. Whether enjoying a slow morning with coffee by the window or curling up after a long day of walking, it felt like a true home away from home. The proximity to Brecon Beacons is a huge bonus—beautiful hikes, waterfalls, and scenic drives are just minutes away. Yet after a day of exploring, coming back to the stillness of this place made the experience even more special. Perfect for friends trip, couples, or anyone needing to recharge in nature. I left feeling rested, grateful, and already thinking about when I can return.

A tiny suggestion was to have one slightly smaller saucepan, but this is minor.

There were lots of large rooms with high ceilings & the views from the bedroom & kitchen were stunning. We loved everything about our stay. The host has presented it beautifully & we couldn’t have asked for more. We loved the history of the property & the area is amazing. This property is a real gem. It was great that we were able to take our dog with us & she particularly loved sleeping by the Aga in the kitchen, while we enjoyed cooking on it. The lounge is especially beautiful. The whole place makes you feel relaxed. We loved it. Thank you.

Absolutely perfect accommodation, secluded yet not far from Llandovery and the walking area. Clean and spacious and very well equipped.

It might not suit those who want the bright lights and lots of shops.

This is a most unusual and comfortable house with lots of space in large grounds. The heating worked well . Large comfortable bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen with a great Aga stove. The nearest town is 15 mins away with good supermarket and nice pub. Lots of castles and beautiful gardens nearby to visit, and walks in decent weather

Not easy to find from main road

Very spacious accommodation with excellent facilities. The host, Daniel, went far beyond my expectations to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. I would definitely stay at Tranquil Getaway again

If anything, the entrance off the main road only has a thin orange post to look out for 3 miles out of llandovery but the Google directions work perfectly.

Amazing house, 4 times the size of my own 4 bed ground floor. Gorgeous views from every window. Full of history, character, antique furniture and ornaments, modern kitchen, massive TV, walk in shower, comfy beds. Dining room would be great for Christmas. Kitchen diner is plenty big enough for day to day meals. A grand long drive, so safe grounds for children to run around. Only bird song.

It was unfortunate that the aga had been turned off accidentally, the shower dial had broken though we were able to adjust to give a decent heat and the toilet had started to leak though we were able to temporarily mend. Appreciate getting repairs carried out on a bank holiday is challenging! The house, however, is amazing 😊. It’s very large, and well equipped.

Very interesting setting. I’m sure guests would like to know more about the history of the property. There are some walks from the property though becoming overgrown.

Good old Welsh weather put paid to us getting down to the river but honestly nothing bad to say about the place

Massive. The pictures don't do it justice, the place is huge. It's very quirky and quiet and was just perfect for what we wanted.

The entrance from the road could be better marked - not a problem arriving in the daylight, but could be tricky in the dark.

The photos don't quite do justice to this unique, historic property. It really is huge and full of interesting nooks and crannies. We loved staying there and really appreciated the host putting the heating on full plus providing extra blankets and dressing gowns given the freezing weather outside. The kitchen was really spacious and well equipped with a great old Aga which took my back a bit. Thoroughly enjoyed staying there and taking advantage of the fabulous walking nearby. Excellent host and have already booked to return.

Although I went in Dec it was very mild so I found having the heating on overnight too much (altho others may love this). I turned the electric heating off but couldn't turn down the radiators.

Clean, comfortable & much larger than I expected. Very quiet. Dog friendly too
