Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Really well equipped and stylish. We loved the private leafy courtyard with table and chairs, in addtion to the ones in the room, and ate our meals out there. More equipment and tableware than you might expect to find in a room. Excellent en suite. Friendly host.

The accommodation was lovely as it was very clean, situated in a peaceful, rural location and the owner Steve was very polite and knowledgeable about the area. Although the accommodation is at the top of a steep hill (which I didn't mind as I enjoyed walking in the area) it is easily accessible by car and the bus stop is not far away. The seaviews from Port Looe are stunning.

United KingdomWhen I arrived at Tregarthen Cottage I was greeted by Steve and was instantly relaxed by his genuinely warm and friendly manner. He showed me around this great accommodation, all the facilities are simple to use. Inside there's also tonnes of brochures leaflets etc full of useful information of places to go and things to do. I was given a key to the exclusive front door of the self contained 'apartment really' (its more than just a room) and Steve told me to come and go as I pleased. The accommodation was meticulously clean and nice and bright with a very well thought out layout which even has its own outdoor seating area, I loved watching the many and varied little birds that came to feed regularly in the mornings while having my toast and coffee. The accommodation has french doors and velux skylight windows which makes it nice and bright through the day and blackout blinds for the nights. I found the double bed extremely comfortable with top quality bedding and linen etc. It is equipped with all facilities that I needed to enjoy a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The accommodation is more than spacious enough for two people and in an exclusive part of West Looe that guarantees all the peace and tranquility that I needed at the end of a busy day. Parking at Tregarthen cottage is right outside the door so couldn't be nearer and is very safe and secure. The large screen TV has all the channels including some extra ones too, Netflix, Amazon prime so I was never stuck for something great to watch when my day was done and I was taking time to wind down and relax with a cold beer from the fridge. The cottage itself is within walking distance (about 15 mins) to the harbour and all the amenities that Looe has to offer. Looe is full of many great and varied places to eat, comfortable welcoming pubs, and of course the fantastic beach with its banjo pier.

Steve was a superb host who was always on hand if needed. He was really helpful in giving us information on places of interest to visit and recommended local Restaurants and Pubs where we could relax and enjoy a meal after a day of exploring. The location was quiet and secluded in a beautiful location . The accommodation is well thought out has everything you need for a relaxing and peaceful stay. It was spotlessly clean and the little Courtyard was perfect if you wanted to sit out and have a drink or two . We look forward to our next stay ..

United KingdomA cosy, well-equipped space in a beautifully quiet and peaceful location. I particularly appreciated the warm welcome from the host. The room is an annexe to the main cottage where the hosts live - but I felt I had complete privacy, and was able to come and go as I pleased, with my own entrance. The cottage is in a hamlet, about a mile outside Looe. 20 minutes comfortable walk into Looe - and so many lovely coastal and inland walks available straight from the door.

United KingdomOnly downside for us was we do not eat out and could have done with a bigger fridge. Minor detail which would not probably bother other holidaymakers
Lovely area, very peaceful, excellent parking. Lovely welcome, very nice hosts. Accomodation was spotless, all needed facilities, very comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful area, enclosed patio with furniture to enjoy meals and drinks, dark skies, have not seen so many stars in years. Bed very comfortable, all linen included, we took our own towels but did not need to. Lots of information available, mine hosts are very knowledgeable ot the area, transport, where to eat etc. All in all a lovely base for seeing Cornwall. Recommended.

United KingdomIt can be a bit difficult to find and the phone signal is hit and miss, but I found it in the end. The road is quite narrow with not many passing places so be careful!
Really comfy little room with lots of small touches and very well equipped. Perfect for solo travellers. Steve and Julie were both lovely.
