Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was nothing I could fault.
Beautiful place to stay, a gorgeous little sanctuary. Janet had left us a home baked birthday cake and homemade buscuits, which were both delicious. There was also enough tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and fresh orange juice to get you started. The place was spotless and there are books, board games, cards and puzzles. Absolutely loved the fire too. The view is stunning and you see a wide range of birds and wildlife visiting the garden. I could sit there all day just watching, it was so peaceful. The shower was great and plenty of hot water and i liked the heated towel rail too. Bed was extremely comfortable. Would stay again in a heartbeat. One of the best places we have stayed. Thank you Janet for your hospitality and for your kindness. Highly recommend the roundhouse the pictures dont do it justice

United KingdomSmall issue with access to property. It might say more about my driving skills, but having a large car might be an issue managing the tight corner into the property.
The location, driving distance to all the major towns and cities. Lovely walks close by and a gorgeous beach just minutes by car . Mossyard Beach. Quiet and peaceful windows with panoramic views The small garden had a variety of wildlife. The bed was so comfortable, and the property was very clean with everything you needed for a stay. I didn't want to leave.

We absolutely loved our few nights away at the roundhouse. We were very surprised how spacious and warm it was. We came away for a few days to rest and that's exactly what we done. I think this may be the first place where id be happy to stay in all day and look at the amazing views and just enjoy each other's company. I would highly recommend and can't wait to return.

Everything was perfect. An excellent get away from it all break. We even took the time to appreciate the variety of wildlife visiting the garden, including our favourite, the woodpecker. The view was beautiful and the sunsets were spectacular. Janet was an amazing host and the lemon drizzle cake really is that good!

The place was just beautiful. We enjoyed just watching out the windows at the wildlife in the garden.... chaffinches, hares, robins, crows, rabbits, goldfinches, blue tits, such a good idea to have bird feeders! (Sorry if I forgot to mention anyone) Also, great views of the shore. Buses are just down the short track if you need to go anywhere. Otherwise the shoreline is just over the road and I believe there is a cycle path in the village for walking or cycling but we didn't venture onto that.

United KingdomThe walks close by take you to an extremely busy main road, not really safe to cross or walk along given the amount of hgv traffic
The roundhouse is such a cosy peaceful retreat. Has everything you need for a short stay. This was our 2nd visit late in the year, so the log burner was well used & kept the house cosy for hours

United KingdomThere was nothing I did not like about the property, the bathroom was small, but that was to be expected in a place like this. I have a slight disability so it makes it awkward but for anybody else I’m sure it will be perfect.
This was an unusual property to stay in and such a real experience. It was clean it was efficiently laid out and guess are well provided for. There was a very clear instruction booklet. Plenty of room for parking and a great location. It was quiet, a lovely place for solitude. The owner of the property was very responsive.

United KingdomReally clutching at straws for a negative but the only things I can think of was that the drying rack for the sink could do with an upgrade, the plates didn't seem to fit into the grooves and no place to dry cutlery.
Isolated and quiet spot with a beautiful view. Ideal for getting away from busy lives. Julie made our visit hassle free and simple with a contactless check in / check out and a guide on how everything worked.

United KingdomNothing, it was all perfect, I wouldn't change a thing about our stay.
What a gorgeous, idyllic place to stay. We loved the design and clever features of the Roundhouse, which meant we had everything we needed for a 2 night stay but also the luxury of a beautiful wide window view that considered sustainability too! Julie was amazing with replies to my questions before hand but also with checking in with us whilst we were there too. The location is perfect as it feels nice and private but was a short drive away from local towns.

Amazing! Great facilities, views, location (8 miles from Newton Stewart). Sitting on the sofa every morning watching various birds (including Woodpeckers) and rabbits eating was such a treat. Walking to the smokehouse to get fresh food to eat in the garden. We definitely will be back to explore more of the area.
