Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom was charming, and the bed very comfortable. Mart made us feel welcome straight away and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A highlight was the evening stroll to the nearby village and dinner and the three horseshoes pub.

United KingdomCharged more than booking . Com quoted £102.50. Martyn charged £114. Didn’t say anything as another guest there so awkward, he obviously didn’t check his booking. Breakfast nice but nothing to say use eggs etc. martyn didn’t appear till after breakfast. A small menu saying eggs near bread for use would have been helpful. He was very nice when there though. I think charging £12 extra was a shame.
Unpretentious, relaxed. Comfy bed. Breakfast nice but letting us know about eggs would have been good.

United KingdomVery little place to hang clothes. No lock at all on door. Lots of space to walk on the farm fields, but wouldn’t have felt happy walking anywhere in the roads around the property as no pavements at all and very small lanes. Didn’t honestly feel that it was good value.
Relaxed and very very friendly host

United KingdomDuring the Saturday evening after driving 3 hours to get to the venue (which was easy to find using a SatNav), we just wanted to rest but during the time Marty was in the kitchen preparing the breakfast for the next morning, he had the TV on at a high volume which disturbed us and this lasted 90 minutes, which suggests that Marty has never put the TV on at that volume, left the kitchen door open to the corridor leading to the three bedrooms and then sat on the bed in those rooms to hear the noise he was creating. The access to his part of the accommodation had wooden floors and he seems to be walking down and up the corridor continually which made a tap, tap, tap, tap sound to add to the noise from the TV. Then, on my notes when I booked the room, it offered the opportunity of having dinner with the hosts at the accommodation which I asked for (no price was given but I would have paid paid whatever was requested), but an hour after arriving as nothing had been said by Marty we assumed that this message had not been read and accepted which upon enquiry proved to be the case. This left us with an issue as to how and where to go to get dinner.
The breakfast was interesting in that the table for 6 had been prepared the night before by Marty leaving teas/coffees, milk, fruit, cereals, and water in the pan ready to be boiled for two eggs each. Hot croissants and the facility to toast bread was made availble.

United KingdomIt's a shame we didn't get to see Colleen before we left to say good bye and thank you properly.
Great location just a few minutes from the nearest town and even closer to the nearest village. Colleen put together a fantastic 5-star breakfast, baked a fresh cake when we arrived and we had tea and coffee facilities available to us.

United KingdomNo locks on bedroom doors… Although breakfast was good ( cereals, fruit, yoghurt, home made bread, croissants and other pastries, fruit juice and cafetière coffee) the only “cooked” option was do it yourself boiled eggs. Slightly disappointing because photos on line include eggs Benedict… that said, the unhurried, conversational natured of breakfast was so enjoyable I didn’t feel too disappointed there wasn’t a “full English” option!
Very friendly and hospitable hostess whose local knowledge helped us get to know the area better. In fact, chatting with her over breakfast was the best part of the stay: engaging, interested, warm and friendly. Communal breakfast encouraged guests to interact and get to know each other. The location is peaceful, quiet, scenic and just a short stroll into Batcombe village. Bedrooms are small but beds are comfortable. En suite adequate although ours was a “wet room” with no bath or enclosed shower. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room however the kitchen is available to guests at all times where there is a variety of teas, instant coffee and home made biscuits.

United KingdomThe continental breakfast was the best we've seen - huge choice of cereals, fruit, berries, pastries, fresh eggs, home-made chutney and jam, local milk, yoghurts etc. Rooms were very comfy and had usual facilities, if you wanted to make tea or coffee then the family kitchen was just down the corridor. Hosts were great and very welcoming.
