The cosy and comfortable atmosphere, quiet escape , 3 adorable little ponies , access to clay trails , has everything you need for a great get away , beautiful view and welcoming host

The only thing I would adjust is a few touch up but it’s an old character building so expected

    Property response:

Thank you for your lovely review! We hope you’ll return one day along with your adorable dog 🥰

Nice & peaceful, owners friendly. Everything we needed. Beautiful gardens, swing seat. Amazing views. We was also allowed to go & pet the 3 ponies that live there.

    Absolutely nothing

The view from the property and the gardens were lovely. The downstairs and conservatory were very nice.

The property needs updating. The bathroom needs fully replacing and the windows need to be left open and diffusers put in the rooms as there is a very distinct musty smell which stick to everything in the cottage from the bedding to the kitchen utensils. It’s very cosy but it needs work and attention to bring it up to date.

    Property response:

I’m truly saddened to read your review and incredibly low score! I cannot help but think that your review is tainted largely by the fact that I was unable to accommodate your last minute request for a date change/refund. For personal reasons you said you were unable to come, but then begrudgingly said you’d still stay. You were evidently not happy before you arrived. If it were the case that you were genuinely not happy with the cottage, I would have been able to move you to an alternative (newer) property, but you did not say this… indeed you did not even let me know when you’d arrived or left. The cottage is a very old Cornish barn conversion with no insulation and so inevitably suffers with the old stone walls. However, many guests love the character of an old building and certainly love all that the cottage offers way beyond most other holiday cottages (ponies/gardens/gated entrance etc). We are planning to refresh the bathroom very soon (we have just replaced the window) and are just waiting on a few bits to get started, but other than that, I do not believe the cottage is lacking?! Most of the appliances are very new and the cottage is certainly very well-equipped & I believe, well decorated. Your review score is quite breathtaking!

Location is perfect for the Eden project and local beaches Lovely little cotrage

The towels left for us smelled of damp quite badly and so did the bed linen which put us right off. There were lots of spiders and we didn’t like the fluffy blankets and throws on the sofas, they can be unhygienic as difficult to wash between guests. ?dog hairs on sofa No reception to watch TV

    Property response:

Thanks for your review. I wish you’d said re towels & bedding since I would have happily put this right?! However, since you only left earlier today, the bedding has not yet been washed and on smelling it, I cannot detect any damp odour. The tv is through BT vision, so perhaps you were using the wrong input on the tv… again, I wish you’d said something. I pour my heart & soul (single handedly) into trying my absolute best to keep guests happy and so it is quite disheartening to read such feedback & to not have been given the opportunity to put things right.

The cottage is great and the garden and ponies are lovely.

The location is not ideal for walks

    Property response:

Thank you for your lovely review! In response to your comment re nearby walks, access to the clay trails is directly behind the cottage but you may not have been aware of this?!

Gorgeous cottage! Has everything you need to cook. Has super comfy and clean beds with an amazing view. Even has heated blankets on both sofas and had DVDs, games and little ride alongside for little ones. The coffee machine looks fab but I didn't how to use it. All in all we had an excellent stay.

Knives were blunt and towels were not very soft.

Great location, really peaceful and feels very safe, but near enough to town centre amenities and local attractions. Great communication on how to find it and gain entry. Access to some outside space and lovely to see the ponies. We had an elderly relative with us so are out at lunch times and just had a light tea in the cottage and found all utensils we needed to do that along with a dishwasher for the no chores holiday. Had been a bit concerned that Mum might feel chilly in the evening and messaged before our stay and they left out a heated throw for her to use which was perfect and we now know what to buy her for Christmas.

Didn't realise that the hot water was on a timer so didn't have hot water for a bath one night. The shower is electric so wasn't a big problem. Messaged in the evening and had a reply in the morning to check it was back on. Might be useful to have the timings of the water in the info booklet so others don't make same mistake.

The shower wasn’t brilliant but served a purpose
