How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

When booking, I advise making sure that breakfast is included in the room price.
Room was on the “Quay Side” (10th floor). A quiet, beautiful view, easy elevator, easy walk up and down stairs, welcoming staff all made our visit a pleasure. Also, I might add, those at the door of the hotel always helped with maps and advice as we headed out to explore the city each day.

Shower is a little dated but works very well, so no problems. No ventilation in the bathroom but to be expected with an old building.
Really lovely hotel, walkable distance to Newcastle city centre and so close to the train station. We stayed here on our wedding night and it felt really special. Reception were accommodating with early check-in and late check-out.

Unfortunately we were on the 11th floor and it was very noisy until the early hours. The lifts were extremely slow.
Staff were extremely helpful on arrival to arrange parking. Beds were good size and the location was excellent

Some small but irritating omissions. No shaver socket in bathroom. No way of making coffee. Great hob, oven, microwave, fridge but proper cooking not possible because of limited equipment.
Brilliant location, close to centre and travel hubs. Apartment beautiful and comfortable. Comfortable bed. Excellent shower. 24-hour concierge. Lift. Good aircon and heating.

Single beds were a bit short (I'm just over 6 feet tall). Also, our room was at the front of the building, and there was noise from people attending a function at the hotel and spilling outside.
Great location between the City Centre and the Tyne, and walking distance to St James's Park. Free valet parking was a real help. Loads of great bars and restaurants close-by. Friendly staff. Well-equipped and relatively spacious rooms. Fantastic value for the centre of such a great city. Overall, an excellent experience at a great price.

With a hotel of this price and standards, I didn't expect to have to pay for basic bottled water. Also, no robes or slippers provided. Plus, the coffee station was basic, with the little disposable milk cartons.
All the staff were very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was lovely (although the juice and water served was warm).

Nothing really but the bathroom could probably do with a bit of attention - the shower screen leaked, leaving a puddle on the floor each time it was used, the toilet didn't flush very well then took a long time to refill the cistern and the extractor fan didn't really work so it was very steamy and hot in there. It didn't impact our stay though and everything else was perfect.
Great location close to quayside and town. High quality hotel with lovely views from Above bar. Comfortable beds, plenty of storage and quiet.

Initial check in was not easy… parking miscommunication between The Vermont and The Vermont Aparthotel ; also we had to move from one apartment to another because the WiFi in the first was non existent; a false fire alarm in the middle of the night was distressing.

whilst i mentioned young staff as friendly-a couple of the satff members were just a wee bit "cool" for this chatty northerner like me!

The safe wasn’t working,there is a broken window panel on the outside sash window. We think for a hotel at your high level you could have complimentary water and nibbles.
