Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCourtyard needed a bit of a tidy. The odd light bulb or two needed replacing but otherwise v good. The stairs might be a challenge for less agile people!
As described on the tin! A small pretty Cotswold cottage close to the centre of the town.

United KingdomThe stairs were a little difficult and the cottage could have done with a better dust around. Also a light over the mirror in the top bedroom would have come in handy as it was a little dim. Apart from that it was fantastic. Non of the above spoilt our time it will be memorable
It was our first time in a cottage. This didn’t disappoint. It was beautiful. We received a welcome basket which was truly lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen well equipped . The garden area was full of butterflies around the beautiful flowers. Magical.

United StatesInternet cut out quite a bit over the 2.5 days we stayed, even after resetting router.
Gorgeous cozy cottage centrally located within a five minute walk of the main street of the village and less than a 10 minute walk to the train station. Appreciated the warm welcome with snacks, breakfast options and a bottle of prosecco. Host was super responsive and even offered to pick up and drop off a small cake at the cottage before we arrived so we could surprise our daughter for her birthday. Cottage was very clean and well stocked with bedding, towels, and personal care products. We were there during a rather pronounced heat wave so it did get a bit hot in the bedrooms at night without A/C. However, I don't think our experience is typical as most people probably won't visit during a heat wave. Take note that there are rather steep winding wooden stairs that you must take to get up to the first and second floor bedrooms. They add to the charm but I probably wouldn't recommend it for anyone with young toddlers or mobility challenges. Thank you for a great stay.

United KingdomIt's not that we didn't like it at all, but storage was very limited. More hanging space would be a real bonus. However we managed okay for the three nights we were there.
This is a beautiful Cottage in a really great location. We were all very comfortable. The paved garden was so pretty with all the wisteria blooming. Also, proximity to the pub just over the back was an added bonus!

United KingdomThere is nothing to dislike apart from the stairs that are a little steep if you are not agile. A decent chopping board would be useful.

United KingdomThe Spiral Staircase - but its a small quaint cottage.
We had an a comfortable stay at Walnut Cottage. We didn't meet the host we got keys from a keypad nearby. The Cottage was clean, comfortable and super quaint. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, the 'Welcome Pack' on arrival was a lovely gesture which included a bottle of prosecco. The bedrooms were a good size for an old cottage - the bathroom and shower were good too. There is a steep spiral staircase up to the bedrooms - so wouldn't suitable for anyone with disability's. The location is perfect for the local town Morton in Marsh which has some great pubs and restaurants. We visited many Cotswold towns during our stay. I would recommend this cottage to anyone exploring the nearby beauty.

United KingdomNothing - it’s fabulous!
The cottage is beautiful inside and outside. The decor really makes it special. Emma was a pleasure to book with and made sure we had all that we needed including a lovely welcome basket and Prosecco as we were celebrating my dad’s 70th. The location is also fabulous - just a 3 minute walk into town and then it is also 2 minutes from a great walk to the arboretum.

United KingdomIt was very cold, the heating wasn't on when we arrived and the property had gotten very cold. We turned all the heaters on and used the log burner in the living room but we still felt cold. I was glad I had taken my hot water bottle! The instructions to get the keys were confusing, they directed us to a shop even though the keys were in the lockbox
The cottage was lovely and the location was perfect, only a short walk to local shops, bakeries, coffee shops and pubs. It was also close to drive to other villages such as Broadway and Stow in the Wold
