Not a problem for us but note that there are a few flights of stairs to reach the top floor.

My husband and I stayed for one night at the start of our trip driving along the Antrim/Causeway Coast. Walter’s Place is well-located along the waterfront and a short walk from Carrickfergus Castle. Street parking can be found directly in front of the hotel which is quite convenient. We were in the Sapphire room on the top floor with a view of the water. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable; we both had a great night’s sleep. Dinner and breakfast can be had at Ownie’s next door.

No car park for the hotel, but we had no problem parking directly outside the hotel on the road.

The room was clean, modern and well appointed. We ate dinner and breakfast in Ownies Bar which is part of the hotel. The food was delicious and service was good. When we checked in Jack was friendly and helpful. He showed us to our room and where things were. He also took a booking for dinner. A great front of house member of staff

had a difficult time connecting to wifi

There could not have been a better location. We went to the upstairs bar area and was able to listen to a concert in the park. We then had dinner next door and it was fantastic!

Somewhat scruffy access along back alley to room then spiral staircase to room - difficult for couple in 70s with a double knee replacement and luggage! But the room was worth the climb.

Breakfast excellent, location very good, for example to visit castle. Very comfortable and clean ensuite room. Next door to a very nice pub that serves excellent food.

I thought I was reserving a room with an elevator but perhaps I misunderstood. My wife has a knee problem otherwise I wouldn't have cared.

Breakfast was served in the bar after 9am. Had to miss breakfast one morning as we had a booking outside Belfast at 10:40am. Didn’t realise that booking restaurant for evening meal was only option. Pub was empty but waiting time was over an hour for food.

It was separate from the bar. Rooms were huge and clean. Great views. Very central. Breakfast was lovely.

Breakfast starting too late to make the 10.30 ferry from Belfast.

Beautifully decorated and quite unique, it was also very comfortable and in a great waterfront location. We were disappointed by not being able to make breakfast as we were leaving for the ferry, but this was more than made up for by the takeaway BLTs prepared for us by the chef. We ate at Ownies the pub next door and had a lovely meal and evening with live music. Would definitely stay there again.
