So many dogs, our room stunk of dog, even though the staff said our room was dog free, our socks were covered in dog hair from the carpet. The dirty doggy smell was gut-wrenching. The bed was supposed to be extra large, but it wasn't, it was quite small, the room was very hot. For the room price, I expected decent coffee with a coffee machine, not cheap sachets, and awful milk pods.

The location was great, and the room had lovely views across the lake. The breakfast is excellent. In fact, all the food is lovely, tasty, and perfectly cooked.

Went to order food at around 8pm on Sunday and told no pizza and food orders had a 90 minute wait. We decided to walk into the town and found alternative for dinner.

Location is great, room was good size, modern and had a lovely view. Very comfy bed. Enjoyed evening drinks at the lakeside as light faded.

Attention to detail on the room cleaning was lacking. A lot of wasps about it the bar area and music was played outside in the morning which disturbed sleep

The room was quite small and the fire exit was confusing because the proper fire exit was immediately next to our door on the right and not down stairs as shown?

Fantastic surroundings and food/service was good but very busy. Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was good after we understood how it worked exactly.

The rooms were quite warm, and there was bright green light in the centre of the ceiling which remained on all night which made for a restless night

The rooms inside the main building and small for £250 per night….location location. Also as with many British hotels, small towels/only one per person. Beds are also smaller in the UK - not unique to this hotel

Perfect waterfront location, dog friendly, restaurant on site, great breakfast. Dog rooms are new and spacious, but across the street. Great staff. Good walking routes from the hotel along the water. Free parking for hotel guests. Coffee/tea/biscuits included in room.

Rooms were very basic. No blinds up at the bathroom window & shower above bath right by the window. Thought it was on the high side pricewise. Maybe the going rate for the area.

Hotel is situated in an ideal setting at the top of lake windermere at Ambleside. Uphill short 10 minute walk into the centre. Hotel is near pier for passenger ferries to Bowness. Free residents car park & nice English breakfast. Staff nice & helpful.

No mini fridge in the room so tricky to store fresh dog food. Could do with a fan. Food and drink a bit over priced even for Ambleside. Some of the young male staff really couldn’t be bothered.

We were in a rear room and the noise from the kitchen extractor fan is a bit noisy but it switches off at 10.30 ish.

The location right on the lake is gorgeous and sitting out having our dinner with the view. The staff are very helpful and friendly willing to help.

Our room was very noisy. I realise it’s a very busy bar, but the music from the bar was constant from 7 in the morning until gone 11 in the evening.
