United KingdomRoom 14, our water in the room was cold and we notified reception. We were told to run the hot water taps for 5 minutes which we did, the hot water came through the bath and sink taps okay then. Unfortunately, there was no pressure at the shower head and the dribble of water which came out was still cold! We were disappointed with this as, on checking the reviews, they were told of this fault a week before and it wasn’t fixed. The furnishings were dated & worn, and the room wasn’t cleaned properly.
The location was very good, easy to park the car. Breakfast was excellent and the entertainment in the lounge bar, was better than expected for a small hotel, we really enjoyed it.

James, the staff member who checked us in, offered to change our room and so we moved to room 18, which had an excellent shower with lots of hot water.

United KingdomThe building itself is very old so you expect uneven floors, walls etc but decor is very dated and upstairs is in need of a revamp which I believe is underway. Our shower was out of action and we had to wait quite a while for enough hot water to fill the bath. This was explained to me however and this was reflected in the very reasonable price. Lighting wasn't good in the room and because of the rooms shape, we only had one bedside unit. Despite all this, we would stay again as the bed was super comfy and that's what really matters!
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very pleasant. Carpark on site was useful.

United KingdomPoor start when we were charged £15 a night for a tiny chihuahua. The booking did not make it clear that there would be a charge, I thought dog friendly meant acceptance of a dog. The receptionist person wasn’t pleasant about us not having it on the booking form.
