There are several doors to the rooms and when people go through them they are a slow shut to the last bit then they bang and when trying to rest you constantly hearing banging. Shame as the rest of the facility was lovely. I must add we had room 1.

I noted that there was 10% city tax added on the bill. As far as I can find out there is no city tax payable in Bletchingley. To whom is this tax paid??

The room was a lot smaller than we expected and we felt it was slightly overpriced by around £30/40. Breakfast was nice but there was only one person serving so we think they were slightly understaffed as we never received our orange juice and couldn’t find anyone to ask for butter once our food came.

The decor was lovely, great location, comfy bed and nice bathroom.

Purely as constructive criticism: 1. I found the breakfast times for a business user to be a little restrictive. ( albeit you did accommodate my request for a 7.30 breakfast on the first morning) On the 2nd morning, your chef had only arrived at 8.30 which was a little late for my needs, so I left without breakfast. I would suggest either extending your breakfast times for an earlier start OR advertise your breakfast times on Booking.com as some others do. This would have enabled customers like myself to consider this. 2. I have requested a VAT Invoice for my stay, but I am yet to receive a reply or an invoice 5 days later. This could be improved in my opinion, certainly with the communication aspect, just to let me know you have received my request and will process it it shortly would help.

The room was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. The bathroom was very clean also. The Wifi was excellent and the full SKY TV package was an unexpected bonus. Parking on site was limited but I didn't struggle to park on both evenings during my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful through the interactions that I had and the evening meal was enjoyable

Room was quite hot and the fan provided wasn't quite man enough for the job. That's being picky!

Lovely owners and staff. Very accommodating. Food was excellent and the breakfast was exceptional. Bed comfortable and bathroom clean. A beautiful old building in a quiet and pretty village.

Stayed for work purposes; did not know about this place, but definitely would recommend. Brian was very kind and lovely. The pub has a cosy familiar atmosphere, the rooms were a very pleasant surprise, very comfortable, clean and had a lovely night of sleep. Breakfast was also very good!

The lead from the kettle didn’t reach the plug socket. We had to make a cup of tea on the floor!

We were greeted by the host and made to feel very welcome. He helped my elderly mother up the stairs and made sure we knew how to operate the tv. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious!

Room (6) would be too small for two people. The bed is against the wall on one side and the door on the other so no room on either side for a bed side table. No breakfast provided even though it was included in the price. Agreed it for 9 am the night before but when I went down there was no table laid, nothing laid out such as cereals and no one around. Someone was in the kitchen but couldn’t hear or see me.

The rooms in the modern part were a bit warm and the bed gave you that “roll together” experience … which if you are trying to keep away from your snoring partner might not be ideal.

Amazingly accommodating team here. We were here for a funeral nearby. Great food, great facilities and would come back in a heart beat

What's not to like?

The food was excellent, and hot, both dinner and breakfast. The staff were really nice, and helpful. The log fire was a warm welcome, and the pub was buzzing and welcoming

Noisy room as over back carpark and smoking area we did however sleep as just completed very long flight

It was convenient to our journey it was a little noisy but we were trying to sleep after long flight breakfast was a little disjointed and slow to be served but staff were pleasant May be needed a bit more organisation as there were only two couples to be served and only one staff member who was it appears also cooking! Parking was also difficult but staff assistance helped with this room very clean and had all facilities you might want didn’t have the evening meal so cannot comment on that

The rooms have been completely refurbished and everything works quite well. However there are a number of small teething troubles that could be improved. Needs to be a hook in the bathroom to hang your towel. The motion sensing light in the bathroom was too sensitive and came on overnight without reason. Staff are very helpful. Menu attractive We will stay again

Nothing. Speed of service for food especially lunch could have been quicker. However staffing for breakfast was amazing how much one person can achieve. Coped very well under pressure. Good customer interaction.

Just one observation, kettle lead was a little short, it didn’t reach the socket from the table top and had to be placed on bedside table in order to reach.

Very clean, newly updated toilet & shower, tea and coffee, shower products & soft towels.

Recently opened and very well done indeed. The rooms are very clean, well appointed and thought out. The whole place is just great. Nice outside seating area under cover and the food was brilliant and good value for money. A great place to stay, I would definitely stay again... and I travel a lot worldwide for business. Thoroughly recommended.
