Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

They didn't have any teas other than black 🤮. Some green or English tea would be nice. Thats all
It was a quick pit stop and had everything we needed. It had blackout blinds to block all light from the windows at night so that was nice.

Someone was in the entry when we arrived. Didn't say anything to us but made comments about "random people just coming into the property". I'm not sure was this the owner as we followed the instructions on admission. Just put a bad feeling into us. The bathroom has a rising damp smell. Street parking only and a bust area. Also no soap in the shower.
Super convenient location Helpful text about lock box and how to get in. Multiple beds in the room, double bed, 2 singles, large bathroom. Really convenient to the port and an easy walk into town.

Outside key lock had a tattie piece of string on key.diddicukt to stow. First thing in room I see damaged blinds. Pull cord broken and too high to reach.. Had kettle etc but no milk. One coffee sachet was used upside down. Tried to use toilet but was not fixed to floor so waited to use ferry's. Sink pop up plug broken so had rubber plug but nearly lost denture down large open orifice. Needs sensible maintenance

lack of designated parking for the property, but was able to drop off baggage at door and locate nearby parking
these facilities were ideal for our short stop over in Stranraer. convenient self access -check in process. The leisure centre across the road was a nice added bonus.

The only downside was that there were four of us in the room, but only three towels were provided. Also, one of the single beds was uncomfortable, although the others were fine.
I liked the location, the instructions to access the accommodation were clear, the bathroom had hot water, and there was also a hairdryer and a kettle in the room for making coffee.

Blinds weren't great, light came through even either curtain shut. Small shower.
Ideally location for travelling over to Northern Ireland on the ferry. Host easily accommodated for me as I was returning from NI on the ferry in the early hours of the morning. Good communication from host.

We knew there were no kitchen facilities other than kettle but felt housekeeping service was a bit inconsisent. (No milk on arrival and no refill another day, once overflowing bin remained unemptied, twice no handtowel, dirty saucer and spoon on arrival). Irksome but did not detract much from all the positives, just left room for improvement.
Clean, comfortable, plenty of space, shower great, location good. We intended to walk daily to and from west beach but were glad of a lift from someone else as we were very slow! Pool close by, parking usu available in nxt street. Entry/key system good. Fresh towels daily was a bonus. Host usu replied to queries immediately or rectified things on next service visit.

Mattress was a bit soft for me :). Iron and ironing board would have been a great addition (we were going to a wedding).
