A lovely little home in a beautiful village. Cosy and the breakfast and home made biscuits were stunning.

The breakfast was exceptional, the location brilliant and the hosts lovely. All the amenities you'd expect are provided and Sarah, the host, gives you a warm welcome. There's a nice pub across the road, which we found out was part owned by James May!

We had a truly lovely stay at Wingmore, and Sarah is a wonderful host. Our group of six (four adults and two children) wanted to stay together, so we contacted Sarah in advance to request all three rooms (she usually only books out two if the guests don’t know each other). It worked out perfectly—two double rooms and a twin room. The shared bathroom was no problem at all, and although the guest space is attached to the main house, it still felt private and very comfortable. The house is beautiful, with a charming garden, and we were warmly welcomed with homemade lemon drizzle cake and cookies on arrival—a delightful touch. Breakfast was a delicious continental spread, just what we needed before heading out. A particularly thoughtful detail was finding feminine products in the bathroom drawer—one of us unexpectedly needed them, and it was so greatly appreciated. For dinner, we walked only 20 meters down the lane to the thatched-roof Royal Oak pub, where the food was excellent (budget about £25–£35 per person). Sarah’s communication was excellent throughout, making everything smooth and easy. We only stayed one night before setting off to Longleat the next morning, but we wished we had more time. Overall, it felt like staying in a storybook countryside home—full of warmth, baking, and gardens—in a quaint and welcoming village. As city folk, we absolutely loved the peaceful escape and would happily return.

Not en-suite. For somebody whose elderly it's a problem, but when we booked we knew.

Parking is steep off the road. I bit worrying for low slung vehicles. The bathroom and breakfast room were shared but we were fine with that .

The beds were comfortable and the area was quiet. A good pub right opposite if you want a meal. The breakfast was adiquate I especially liked the Welsh cakes. We would recommend it to friends

Sarah was welcoming and friendly when we arrived, and gave us some helpful recommendations for local activities. Sarah's baking and homemade jams are exceptional, we found the breakfast fresh and appealing, and our bedroom and the shared bathroom were clean and comfortable. Pretty front garden too. All very easy and relaxing, and we felt well cared-for throughout our stay despite meeting Sarah only once (on arrival)!

    No dislikes.

The buffer / continental breakfast was excellent. If I had needed a full English it would have been provided at the good local over the road. This in itself was an unexpected benefit since I was able to have a much needed pint after my long journey

No grocery store inside this village.

Very tidy, beautifully decorated interior with a great host who is friendly and kind. The bathroom was spotless as well. It's a hidden gem 💎! Parking 🅿️ is available at no additional cost. Breakfast 🥞 includes pastry, honey 🍯, jam, toast, coffee/tea, milk, butter 🧈, fresh fruit, oats, and yogurt. If you need something different or a dinner 🍽️, then just few meters away you can find a restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

We can't think of anything we didn't like.

We liked everything ! Totally unfussy - it was run like a well oiled machine ! As everyone else said it was spotlessly clean and so peaceful; you wouldn't know there were other people in the house. The breakfast was fabulous and appeared as if by magic first thing when we got up. Thank you for facilitating an early breakfast especially for us ! We will recommend you to all.
