Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesParking could be an issue, but we were fortunate to be able to park close by every time we returned. There was a clothes dryer in the garden shed, but it took quite a while to get our clothes dry.
The cottage had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. The kitchen was very well-stocked with whatever we needed to cook and eat. In fact, there were a few provisions left for us in the refrigerator when we arrived. The cottage was very clean and close to shops and restaurants.

My friend Martin Bown who left the cottage at 10 am forgot his toiletry bag in the bathroom. We do net get any possibility to reach the staff how to get this item back.

United KingdomLots of little extras included despite being self catering were a lovely and welcome touch! Additional phone chargers, an Alexa, wood for the fire just to name a few! The cottage was beautiful and true to the photos, lovely and clean and so cosy to stay in.

United KingdomIt was perfect, no need to change a thing!
Wishbone Cottage is beautifully cosy and warm, perfectly situated for exploring the Southern Cotswolds. For those with dogs, the back garden is very secure, plus there is access to a field for walking and off lead play after just two doors down the road to the left. We loved the cottage and would definitely stay again.

United KingdomWhen we arrived we couldn’t park on the busy road anywhere near the cottage and had to park some distance away and lug all our belongings down the street to the cottage, parking is a challenge in that area! The fridge wasn’t cold enough so it took overnight before it got cold, this is a recurring problem with holiday cottages we’ve found, where the owners don’t turn them up in time for the guests to use them on arrival. They said that there was matches and fire lighters for the wood burner but there wasn’t.. added to this, the heating didn’t come on so we were cold on our first night and had to sleep in extra clothes! My husband ( who’s an engineer) discovered the next morning that the boiler wasn’t set on the correct time or date so the heating was not working properly. Although the general bedding was clean, the pillows only had one , thin pillow case on them ( again a recurring issue with cottages) so the smell of previous, sweaty heads was ‘yuk’ to sleep on! Luckily I had brought my own spare pillow cases as I have found this to be a problem with other rentals. Pillows need washing, especially if it’s been warm and not using pillow protectors or under slips means your guests can smell the previous occupants! Not pleasant!
It was a pretty cottage that had been tastefully decorated. The garden was safe and completely enclosed for our dog.

Belgium- Cleaning (dog poop in garden, food residues in the oven, used contact lenses on bedside table, dirty dishes, dead insects, dirty windows) - Humidity in the cottage (fabrics of living chairs felt clamp, this was better the 2nd day after we turned heating on) - bed on 2nd floor, horrible matrass, never had so much backpain during a vacation - no reaction at all to my message about lack of cleaning. So keeps me wondering if they’d react if there is an urgency. - high traffic noisy road (they drive like crazy!). However during the night it calms down.

United KingdomThe traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. Had little sleep which we didn’t expect on a holiday. Little privacy downstairs due to being on a main road and passers-by so needed to close the blinds which made the room dark. Heating was not on so cottage was cold. When I highlighted this no one took any notice and told me to turn up the thermostat. The boiler was off so had to learn how to turn it on. Once heating was on cottage was warm. Only communication is via email which is a poor way to communicate. A phone number should be provided to discuss issues. For these reasons we will not return although many elements we liked but little sleep is not good when on a break.
At first glance it is comfortable and lots of items provided for cooking.

Beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable. Kitchen stocked with a few essentials and condiments and doggy biscuits which went down a treat with our dog! Location absolutely beautiful just a short walk to a couple of lovely local pubs, shops and cafes.
