There was nothing I was unhappy about at this hostel.

This hostel was so much better than I was hoping. I stayed there as a last minute booking for one night, with my 3 children (age 5,9,10). The welcome from staff was super friendly and accommodating, the accommodation was beautifully clean and comfortable, the cooked breakfast was fab and great value for money. I really couldn’t recommend this hostel highly enough. I’ll be staying again.

It was our first time to stay in YHA Hostel in Beer.We were greeted by a lovely receptionist (have not asked his name) but he was very polite and welcoming.He even stayed half hour longer at reception as we were stuck in traffic and he waited for us to check in before reception would close.He even gave us a call to find out if we are en route! Which I found really kind.When we arrived,check in was prompt with lots of information we needed ,so thank you ! Other reviews say that hostel is dated,which is,but it’s very clean,beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean.Place is located in quiet area and short walk to picturesque Beer village.

It wasn't mentioned on the Booking.com information that towels are not provided, but need to be rented. This was mentioned in the confirmation email, but this wasn't received until the booking was made and paid for. And we had no towels with us. It also wasn’t made clear where tent visitors could shower if we did have towels.

The setting is beautiful and the tents are really nice. There is a log burner in the tent, with logs provided, and although there's no mains power, there is a USB socket for charging things. The bed was comfortable and warm.

Location and views were amazing. The stuff super friendly. The room was good size, everything was clean and the shared kitchen and dining nice and easy to use. The outdoors really lovely too.

The insistance at reception for photo ID. Not something I have ever experienced at UK accomodation before and almost spoilt a wonderful stay. Ultimately the staff worked with us and were pleasant throughout the rest of the stay, but this was stressful at the start of the holiday.

Absolutely beautiful property, in a beautiful location, minutes from the wonderful Beer beach and coastal village, what a hidden and unexpected gem.

Parking could be a challenge especially if youre leaving early. Good thing we parked at the outermost spot when we went back very late the night before

The price was a bit high for a tent experience, even though it was a lovely tent with comfy bedding.

Nothing really - although the shower rooms were quite small.

A beautiful location - very peaceful with lovely views. The building is architecturally very attractive. The staff are lovely. The vegetarian breakfast was cooked to perfection. There was a secure locked bike shed next to the hostel. The kitchen looked well equipped and the shared lounge was comfortable.

The cooked breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Continental breakfast was also available, along with kitchen facilities to cook you own if you wanted to. The bedding was very clean. We had secure storage for our bicycles. Limited alcoholic drinks were available for purchase at a simple bar in the reception area. Takeaways could be ordered and delivered from Seaton.
