Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandWe had a great stay at Babi and Tata's Guest House. The beds were comfortable, the shared bathroom was clean and there was hot water. The teenage girls (Babi and Tata) spoke english, which was very helpful. It was great to be able to order breakfast and dinner. The value for the money is excellent.

SwitzerlandIf you’re looking for a local experience and meeting two brilliant girls from Ushguli that’s the place to stay in ! They both speak English perfectly and make sure you’re having everything you need! The guest house has a beautiful terrasse for summer time and in winter they light a fire in the living area so you can make your ski gears dry

The host speaks fluent English. She is very nice, polite and helpful. The room is clean and tidy, and the most important is that there is a heater in our room which saves us when the temperature dropped abruptly during our stay. There are two shared bathrooms. Food is plentiful, actually more than we can eat even after a day of hiking.

GeorgiaIt was a really nice stay. Place is not super easy to find but locals will direct you. Rooms are basic but cozy enough. There're heaters and 2 shared bathrooms/wc. Hosts are nice and responsive. Showed us around and provided a place under the roof for our bikes. The dining room has a great view to Ushguli and the breakfast was tasty and rich. We enjoyed being there. Oh, and there's also a small old chapel there on the territory)

EstoniaIt's a new guesthouse at Murkmeli run by women of the house. So rooms and showers were spotlessly clean. There are currently 4 rooms and 2 showers/toilets with plenty of hot water. We had some rain during our horse ride at Ushguli and they provided heaters for both of our rooms. So we could dry some of our clothes. Murkmeli is small and beautiful part of Ushguli. There are still just a few guesthouses at Murkmeli. So village is very quiet and peaceful. It's just a small walk to main part of Ushguli with plenty of nice views. Just next to guesthouse is old church and Svaneti towers are all around the house. They provide home made meals for extra cost and these were tasty and plentiful. Girls of the house speak English and if you know some Russian then you can speak with other members of family too about their life at Ushguli. It wasn't easy to find a best option to stay at Ushguli as some of guesthouses at main part of village have plenty of fake reviews and the real situation of rooms and showers could be different. I'm happy that we found this house. You can put a sign of your guesthouse to road through Murkmeli close to your house. So hikers arriving to Ushguli without bookings could turn to your house and ask for rooms at the entry to Ushguli.

PolandNothing, everything as expected
The family welcomed us very dearly, also helped with the taxi to getting into Ushguli and outside. The dinners are so so so good (especially home made yoghurt, home made cheese and khachapuri). We felt very welcomed and safe. Nothing problematic, everything can be arranged. Also very good location to leave to the hiking trail above Ushguli and it is really not far away from the center of Ushguli. Babi's English is perfect, so the communication is great (she is an excellent hostess). This is a very good option for a very good price. I really recommend staying here! :)

RussiaBreakfast and dinner were too plentiful. Maybe it would be suitable for 6 people, but not for two women. But everything was very tasty, and we were extremely sorry that we could not finish everything!
We spent the whole day looking for a hotel and settled on Babi & Tata's House. 1) It was in Ushguli 2) It was inexpensive and our budget allowed it 3) And it looked very cozy. And we weren't wrong! Unlike new buildings made according to European standards, it was actually built on the foundations of ancient towers. Animals graze below. Nearby, 20 meters - there is a river. The beds are very soft and comfortable. We came for 1 night but stayed for 4! The feeling that you arrive at the Black Castle in the Game of Thrones, where the buildings are over 1000 years old. The hotel is very new, we were the second guests here, we really liked that it is not noisy here. There is hot water in the shower, although in the capital, Tbilisi, it is not always available. It turned out that Babi and Tata are teenage girls. They opened a family hotel with their mother Mzea. They speak excellent English! In addition, they took great care of us. Believe me, this is a big difference when compared with European hotels. Breakfast and dinner were very plentiful and delicious! It was a real holiday! There are not many hotels in this part of Ushguli yet, and we enjoyed the silence and solitude.

PolandIt was very cold, and in order to use shared bathroom you need to go through the terrace outside. In the end of October it was too cold for comfortable stay. We had one heater per room, but the isolation of the building is not enough, on the bed next to the window you can feel the cold air from the outside. I do not recommended staying during the cold nights, but if it would be summer time it would be no problem at all. I advise to ask for the price before you get any drink.
Good communication before arrival, girls were speaking in English, we were warmly welcomed. Rooms were clean. The water was very hot.

Czech RepublicAdditional charges for tea, coffee, which we didn’t quite expect. Rooms were very basic - we had three and some didn’t have the furniture shown in photos (e.g., bedside tables, mirrors). Kitchen use wasn’t allowed, even though it was shown in the pictures.
Stunning location with breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountains. Clean and simple accommodation, adding to the unique, almost medieval atmosphere of the village.
