Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyIt's a bit difficult to find when following the directions of Google maps. I recommend to take the road from the south via Choni/Matkhoji.
Even when it was obviously almost off-season with less guests during our stay, the stuff was really friendly and prepared us a wonderful dinner and a breakfast which didn't miss anything on the table. The hotel is surrounded by a very nice and green garden which gave the stay a special peaceful character.

The breakfast was amazing! Fresh food from the village and big selection to suit any taste. The owner let us try his homebrew alchohol which was very nice. We checked in very late night and he was there kindly waiting for us. The room was preheated on a very cold night which made the sleep comfortable. Rustic and farm house feel from outside with modern and clean clean rooms. Would stay again 100% fantastic value for money.

RussiaNon, everything was perfect!
It's the best place to stay in this area (Zeda Gordi - Martvili) and my stay here was fantastic, I even changed my plan and stayed on one more day) 1. Modern with nice design room, where I can find all fasciitis (air conditioner, tv, kettle, fridge). I even had a bath in bathroom! 2. Increadible view from my room on hills, I can lay on the bed and see how clouds go through the hills) it's better that any TV) 3. Chateau has the best location, because it is in very peaceful place with own area, but at the same time very close to the canyon and path to waterfalls. 4. Chateau it self had an interesting long history and the owner can tell you and show grapes plantation, qvevri, different equipments for wine producing. 5. Staff was very friendly and I want to thank so much the owner, who takes me on a tour of chateau and give me to taste handmade wine and cognac! The quality of this product very high, l regret that can't take some bottles with me) 6. Also there is billard, lounge zone, sheeps and pond with trout and swimming pool, so you can find many activities even in the chateau area) I wish the owner that all his plans become a real!! If I will be in this district again I totally stay in this place one more time!!

United KingdomNothing, it was the perfect place for us
The Chateau Chikovani is a good answer to the question, why visit Georgia? A perfect base for visiting the Okatse Canyon and Waterfall (the former in walking distance and the latter is walkable but about an 11 mile round trip). The Duke was very happy to show us around the chateau before we had dinner. The food was excellent, not expensive and there was a very good selection at both breakfast and dinner. We had initially only booked one night here, but ended up staying another and when our flight was cancelled, they offered us help and let us finish breakfast even after breakfast was supposed to have finished whilst we sorted things out. The room itself was modern, clean and had a lovely view out over the hills and the garden. I wholeheartedly recommend the Chateau Chikovani.

GeorgiaThis could have been a wonderful place: it has a large plot of land, an old garden, two large villas, and even a pool. But in reality, the rooms are in bad condition, with squeaky doors and mattresses. The infrastructure is not in a good condition either, we had a room facing two roofs, one of which was regularly splashed by water from old pipes, making it hard to sleep at night. And even though this place is labeled as pet friendly, we had an unpleasant incident with the manager (or at least I think it was him) who tried to prevent us from bringing our pet into the room with the argument that "it might upset other guests". The absurdity of this was underscored by the fact that stray dogs were roaming the grounds and disturbing guests far more than our trained friend, who didn't make a sound. Anyway, we had our pet with us, so this person did nothing but spoil the mood for everyone. And by the way, his attitude was very different depending on who he was talking to: guests who spoke English, German or Russian were treated with the utmost respect, but we (with me being Georgian and speaking Georgian) were not so lucky.
Nice place, once very well maintained and built with love.

United Arab EmiratesWe had different expectations after reading the superlative reviews of this place. It's hard to write something negative when the host is kind and trying his best to make guests happy. I would rate the property as 2 star as it's outdated and rooms lack some basic equipment. It has a potential because the surroundings are beautiful, it just needs proper renovation and maintenance (especially the bathrooms). We did not like the breakfast.
The bed was pretty comfortable.
