How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewOur stay at Keti Margiani's guest house in Mestia was nothing short of perfect! The rooms were beautifully decorated with a cosy wooden interior that gave a true Svanetian charm while still being warm and comfortable. Every detail made it feel like a home away from home. The breakfasts were a real highlight — generous, filling, and made with love. The homemade jams and cheese were absolutely delicious and gave us a real taste of local traditions. It was the best way to start a day of exploring the mountains. From the windows and terrace, the views of the surrounding peaks were simply breathtaking. Sitting there with a cup of tea felt like a dream. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the hospitality of the hosts. They were kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed, while also sharing stories and making us feel part of their family. Family speaks excellent English and Russian. This guest house perfectly combines authenticity, comfort, and warm Georgian hospitality. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Mestia — it’s an experience you won’t forget!

Verified review⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Staying at this guest house in Svaneti was truly an unforgettable experience! The combination of quality and value for money was outstanding — every detail exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and perfectly maintained, offering both comfort and authentic local charm. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, always going out of their way to make sure we felt at home. The food was another highlight — fresh, homemade dishes that gave us a true taste of Svanetian hospitality. The location was also perfect, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and within easy reach of trails and cultural sites. It’s rare to find a place that balances affordability with such high standards of service, atmosphere, and comfort. I would recommend this guest house to anyone visiting Svaneti — whether for adventure, culture, or relaxation, this is the perfect spot. I can’t wait to come back!

Verified reviewIts in the old district so closer to the hills and some nice views of the valley. Toilets are refurbished, so clean.
1. Very poor mattress, 2. No hooks or hangers for clothes in the room or toilet, 3. untidy common areas inside the house, 4. Taking the car to the property is arduous as it is up a slope with cobbled stones.

Verified reviewGood room, clean with great views. The owner very kindly allowed us to park our car in the garden for 4 days without asking for payment.
Nothing. But make sure you have a 4X4 if you drive up to the property, it’s very steep!

Verified reviewFamily-run guesthouse with clean and cozy rooms. The patio is perfect for relaxing after a hike, and guests can also use the kitchen.
The location is a bit away from the center, but that’s what makes it so peaceful and quiet. Plus, the view is one of the best in town.

Verified reviewIf you are looking for a stay at a guest house in a original family, area this is a perfect location. Very friendly people - host, clean room and bathroom, overwelming breakfast. From the village the climb up to the guest house is steep but the scenary, stay and view is worth it. It is basic but very good and well hosted.
Not much to mention.

Verified reviewIt’s a very beautiful Hometstay in the heart of Mestia with breathtaking views of the mountains. It is not a hotel, it’s more like a guest house / homestay - the hosts will be staying at the property making it like a more homely experience. Hosts are friendly and they are up for sharing facilities with you. It’s definitely better than staying on the main road since this location offers stunning views and you can just spend time at the property.
Things to take note of before booking - It’s a bit difficult to access the location. The one shown on google maps vs. booking.com does not align. Further, there is a steep walk up the hill - about 1500 steps which can be tough if you have too much luggage. It’s accessible by car however. Once you reach the gate, you may feel like there is nothing here since the first building is sort off under construction and there is another stay beside it which is actually the property.
