How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything was perfect during the stay. The location is exactly in the heart of the old city and so close to public transportation for around Batumi. The landlady was so kind, helpful and hospitable. We stayed in a big room and it was really safe and clean. The entrance of the apartment is a bit complex. The address is correct, but you need to go back side of the building and ask one of the neighbours. The landlady doesn't know English, but you can handle with google translate or AI translator. If you know Georgian or Russian, you can communicate easily. I wish I could communicate more and sit & chat with her, her husband and even her neighbours like locals.
Just the traffic noise during sleeping. Our room was at the front side of the apartment which there is a main street. I don't know there is an another room or not. However, you can close the balcony door and sleep without any traffic sound. Sound proofing is good. There is a good air conditioner too if the weather is hot.

Verified reviewGuest House Kartvelishvili is a hidden gem for travelers visiting Batumi. Situated conveniently near the bus station, old town, and the sea, its location is ideal for exploring the city's attractions. The staff are welcoming and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience from start to finish. Rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, with comfortable beds, and both kitchen and bathroom are generously sized. The highlight is the large balcony. It's also budget-friendly, offering great value for money. Highly recommended for its ideal location and excellent accommodation.

Verified reviewThe apartment was in an old building on the third floor , and the owners lived on the second floor. The whole family was very friendly. Only the daughter speaks English. She helped us to order a taxis to the bys station. Her mother washed our clothes and didn't charge for it. A very large living room with two single beds and a very large double bedroom.. A well equipped kitchen and good-sized bathroom. There is a balcony lookout to a busy courtyard entrance on a busy road.
The location might not be the best for some people. We found it fascinated , just to see how the local lives. Didn't look extremely nice from the outside, though the apartment was extremely well kept and comfortable.

Verified reviewFantastic location, just on the edge of Batumi old town so nice and quiet at night but a five minute walk to lots of fun bars & cafes, and a ten minute walk to the sea front. Lovely, friendly family who looked after us very well. Huge, comfortable room (including a kitchen!). Amazing value for money. Very glad we stayed here - thank you!
Difficult to find - instructions were not as clear as they could have been. The guest house is tucked in a quiet corner and there are no signs so it required us asking a few people until we were pointed in the right direction

Verified reviewThe room was huge and had the biggest bed I’ve ever seen. The place was spotlessly clean. The location was excellent, right in the centre of town. This was probably the best home stay experience I’ve ever had

Verified reviewMaria was a great host who went out of her way to make my stay very welcoming and enjoyable. I had the very large double room where the sun streamed in each morning. The house is in a quiet, pleasant neighbourhood about 20 minutes walk to the centre of Kutaisi. One suggestion: attach the shower to the wall and put up a shower curtain so the shower water doesn't flood the whole bathroom.

Verified reviewWithout a doubt the nicest accommodation for the price, spacious room with all the equipment, hands on owner, easy and non-stop access to the accommodation. Private bathroom and fridge in the lobby.
Next to a noisy road and since it is Batumi, the flow of traffic never stops, even at night. Dark curtain would help immensely. Small private kitchen somewhere in the lobby with a sink and small stove would be great.
