How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe road to the accommodation is flat and close to the bus station. The shared kitchen has a refrigerator, range, cooktop, and electric kettle, as well as cooking utensils and dishes, making it convenient for cooking. There's also free coffee. The double rooms have separate beds, making them similar to twin rooms. Hot water runs smoothly, and there's a free washing machine (detergent included), along with a clothesline on the balcony. You can also leave your luggage for free when you go trekking. There's a seating area in the spacious yard, and you can relax on the second-floor balcony while gazing at the snow-capped mountains. The staff are friendly and helpful when you ask for help. I couldn't ask for more. One tip: Bring your own shampoo and other toiletries (towels and individual soap are provided). Toiletries are usually not provided.

Verified reviewLovely property in a great location. Really kind and welcoming owner who encapsulates Georgian hospitality perfectly. She also gave me a glass of her father’s homemade Qvevri wine!

Verified reviewVery warm and welcoming family. A dedicated shared kitchen close by, where you can actually cook meals without feeling like you're intruding someone's space. Very comfortable beds with great linen, alongside a generously spaced room. Right next to the start point for the mestia to ushguli trek.
thanks

Verified reviewThe home is beautifully located near the river, just a 5-minute walk from town if you take the shortcut. From my room, I could see the cathedral, the mountains, and the sunrise — absolutely breathtaking! The balcony is a real gem, offering stunning views of both the sunrise and the sunset. Truly magical! The room itself was spotless, cozy, warm, and filled with natural light — incredibly comfortable. But without a doubt, the true highlight of my stay was meeting Tea, Lia, and their family. They are wonderful people — warm-hearted, generous, and genuinely welcoming. I felt completely at home. Thank you so much for everything!
thanks 💗💗

Verified reviewI really appreciate the hostess. She was friendly, smiling and tried to help with everything. The accommodation was clean, nice, homely. There are mosquito nets in the windows. We had the opportunity to use the balcony to dry things. The city center is about 5 minutes from the house. We also used the breakfast option and it was really worth the money. Homemade yogurt, buns, vegetables....all local. We will definitely use it again. Thank you:-)

Verified reviewIt's really a good place to stay, the room is clean and with a nice yard. we cooked in the shared kitchen and share foods with other guest. Tea is a very nice manager and gave us fresh milk from her family. I would like to stay at Guram Baba again when I come back to Mestia😀

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay in Tea's guesthouse. You could see that the room was very thoughtfully prepared and you had everything you needed there, even some small details like a reading lamp or mosquito net on the window. Everything was very clean. As a guest you could also use the kitchen which also has all the essentials. The guesthouse is located in a calmer part of Mestia, but you can reach the bus station within 10 minutes on foot. You can also enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains from there. After two intense days in Ushguli we were really happy to stay there and are definitely recommending this guesthouse to our friends coming to Mestia.

Verified reviewSuch an amazing place to stay. It is bright, new and spotlessly clean. The shared kitchen is a very nice bonus for making some meals while travelling. The host is extremely kind and went out of her way to show generosity to us. We left our luggage here during our trek. Highly recommend as it is so new and clean. You won’t regret staying here!
Everything was awesome!

Verified reviewSuper comfy room, 10 min from main square, close to the river. Washing machine available.
No breakfasts/dinners available.
I don't do dinner at all. And if you wanted breakfast, you had to tell me in advance and I would prepare it for you, otherwise you had to book it on Booking.com.

Verified reviewA very accommodating owner, who goes above and beyond to meet the guests' needs/requests (i.e. late arrival, breakfast etc). We absolutely loved the comfy beds, the bedsheets were lovely too, and in addition, the cosy temperature kept in the room at all times was a big bonus as there was pretty cool outside. Really happy with our stay at Guram Baba.

Verified reviewVery close to the center. Very nice kitchen and washing machine was available. The owners were very nice and gave us free fruit from their garden. They also let us keep our car there for a couple of nights that we were away. They have taxi service as well that drove us to the start of our trek

Verified reviewThe price is quite good. And the host’s family were so friendly! They provided us milk which was just milked by them. They provided us a driver who can sent us to the halfway of the mountain and gave us a lower price. After hiking, my boots got broken, they asked me if I need repair. The location may not be the best, 4 minutes’ walk to the center, but the river runs by it and the mountains surrounding made it one of the most beautiful place there.
