How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bathrooms not maintained (condition and cleanliness). One sole overhead light and no fan or a/c in dorm room.
Hello, thank you for listing so many positive aspects. It is surprising that despite this, you gave us a low score in your review. You booked a shared room with a shared bathroom, the shared bathroom is cleaned well every day, but it is shared and it is logical that other tourists besides you will enter there. You could have booked a suite with a separate bathroom, where you would be more comfortable. Svaneti does not need air conditioning anymore. Moreover, in an 8-dollar hotel, you should have the appropriate requirements!

Verified reviewThe guest house is calm and has a cute, sympathetic garden to sit in. It's nice to have a kitchen for making own meals. The young man making my check-in the first time was really nice and let me even choose the dorm.
The second time I came a woman did the check-in. She wasn't the most welcoming but everything was ok. Then I paid in advance for a friend of mine who would come later in the night. I did this with the younger men. The next morning the women wouldn't believe me that everything was already paid and organised properly until the men could prove it. And since then her mood towards me/us felt even colder. This was really a pity! The bathroom could be more clean.

Toilet wasn’t flushing properly and it took too long to fill soo yeah thta was bit disgusting.
Thank you for your review, but we have a few questions: Could you please explain why you disliked the location? If the toilet wasn't flushing, why didn't you contact the staff? Maybe a tourist ruined it and we didn't know. It's not nice to stay in a hostel for 18 GEL, have free tea and coffee, and not be grateful.

Hot water was just a bit warm one night, probably because of the high load on the electricity network in the area because of the cold weather. Was ok the next day. No temperature control on the cooking surface.

Verified reviewA 5 minute walk from the bus station (flat road), a nice, cozy kitchen with all the essentials, clean facilities, a very helpful host who is usually available on WhatsApp or in person, and overall plenty of space to hang around including an outdoor common area. Would stay here again.

The lighting in the rooms are not proper for relax. They should replace those white bulbs for natural ones. They are disturbing for the eyes. Not good hostel vibes. The stuff are not welcoming.

We told you at your check in time if you did not like something in the room just come at reception or text on our phone number which was on the wall of your room. 10 days after your check out you write 5 score. Staff were not present upon arrival and I had to wait. The kitchen was not very clean and did not have very many utensils. The bathroom also did not feel very clean. The socket at my bed was too loose and my charger would not stay so I could not charge my phone at my bed.
Please look at other reviews and compare yours. everyone writes 9 or 10. Why do you wanted special conditions for 7 dollars? you booked 2 nights. If you did not like first night here why did you stay second night ? Maybe your goals is just find cheapest hotel in the town and than write low score for them.
