How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe guesthouse is lovely, and the hosting family is very very friendly and helpful. They made every effort to make us fill comfortable. The garden is nice and relaxing. The rooms are basic, as we needed and expected. The shower is great. We definitely recommend.

Verified reviewGarden was pleasant.
Expensive food! 35 Lari each for breakfast for adults and children and 40 lari each for dinner. The highest cost we encountered trekking the 4 days from Mestia-Ushguli. Also, there’s no comfortable common area to sit. We ended up sitting in our room after dinner. Such a shame as the property is beautiful and could be really nice. The yard is cluttered with half complete construction equipment.
😀😀😀😀

Verified reviewPerfect location for the hike to Adishi. Food was terrific and plentiful with good lunch packs as well. Beer for after your hike to drink in a gorgeous garden. You can visit their own Svan tower if not afraid of rickety ladders and curious cows. A great place to stay!

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay here and I would recommend it as a great place for anyone doing the Mestia-Ushguli trek. The host family is so kind and hospitable, they really made us feel very welcome and at home. They even invited us to watch the Euros football with them, which was so kind. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable, with excellent food in large quantities - just what you need after a long day of hiking! There was also a very sociable experience dining with other guests, which was fun. The guesthouse is also in a really beautiful location by the hillside, with a nice garden to sit in and relax. I would definitely stay here again if I was back in the area.

Verified reviewThe place was simple but great, however food wasn't great and the prices were too high. They charge extra for dinner and breakfast. Too expensive.

Verified reviewGuesthouse is located in a quiet village with authentic 12th century towers. The view from the room was stunning. The hostess serves homemade food for breakfast and dinner (at additional cost).
The access to the property in winter time is quite complicated - 4 wheeler is needed to get there.

Verified reviewIt was the nicest guesthouse that I have been staying at in all of Georgia! It almost felt like a hotel which was amazing for the price. Everything was perfect about the room; heating, good lighting, nice bathroom and shower with hot water and super clean. The garden was so lovely and peaceful and even in October, it was nice just to sit outside for hours looking at the Svan tower, the flowers and the baby cow.

Verified reviewThe guests were very nice and caring, the meals were great, very nice and cozy kitchen, authentic experience of the village, located on the trail of the Mestia-Ushguli trek
Was a bit hard to find the place

Verified reviewWe got a mobile heater because the room was so cold.
The shower is right next to the toilet. If you have a shower the whole (little) bathroom is underwater and won't dry for hours. If you need to go to the toilet your feed will always get wet. Don't forget to take the paper out of the room before showering. The room was very small and cold. The dinner was ok but expensive and not worth the price. We paid 200 gel for dinner, breakfast and one night. At other geusthouses we paid half the price for better and more. We needed to go back to mestia and the owner took us there for 80 gel for the drive what is just horrible expensive

Verified reviewI loved the location, so close to the Mestia-Ushguli trail. Dinner was lovely and very delicious! I didn't have breakfast, but when I came back after a heavy storm they offered me some small pancakes and tea, so sweet! My room had a small balcony, it was very comfortable, as was the bath room. Would definitely recommend this place!

tried to charge us 35 gel for breakfast (should be max $8 usd, according to booking). This was the only part of the experience that was iffy, otherwise, great stay. thanks for the nice lamps and comfortable pillows
