How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExpected great things given the reputation, instead got "good". Location is fine as still only a 10-15 minute picturesque walk from the centre, and right on the road to Chaaladi glacier and the airport. Rooms are spacious and mine had a nice enough view over to Mestia and the towers. Nice that the shower had a small boundary preventing water flowing all over the bathroom floor like a wet room. When present, staff were friendly. Was much more family oriented rather than younger or solo travellers. There's kitchen facilities if you want.
Communication was a real tough point as staff, when present, spoke limited English. Not much use for local advice and pointers. Nearly lost access to my room one night when they'd kept the key to fix a smelly drain but made no plans to return it to me.

Verified reviewThe double bedroom was quite nice, the view was amazing and the terrace was a pleasant place to sit.
They changed our reservation on the day of our arrival without notice and explanation. We has to sleep in a 6-bed-room without an own bathroom. The shared bathrooms were also clogged. We expected that we wouldn’t have to pay for that night but we did. I also wrote them a couple of days before of our arrival without notice some questions and never received an answer.

Verified reviewGreat location close to town and close to the start off the classic Svaneti hiking trail. Eso our host was gracious. The food was really good. The accommodations were clean and very spacious for a guesthouse. The common areas were great. Everything was perfect and we would love to stay again.

Verified reviewThe Room was Huge , it had 6 beds and was on ground floor hence we did not face any problem to shift our luggage on higher floors. They had a restaurant where we requested for breakfast and they tried their best to make us happy especially with kids. They arranged Kellogg's Chocos for kids in breakfast. The Room was well organized and clean and had AC too. Bathroom was big. The View of the Mestia Mountains from 1st Floor of this Guest House was amazing , they had a swing and seating arrangement there where we can play indoor games.
We Travelled all the way from Kutaisi to reach Mestia at around 10.30 pm and we were hungry so did dinner at Laaila Restaurant and it was almost 12 am when we reached the google map location but to our surprise we were not able to find the guesthouse and the phone number of the guest house was not attended at this time. Our Guide did his best to find this guest house as the name Manoni Ratiani is nowhere mentioned on the gate. I Request them to put a name plate at the gate as the hotel is behind the main road so that it can be reached with ease. The Breakfast was booked for 6 adults considering 4 adults and 4 kids .. but the space they reserved was us on day 1 was too small to eat comfortably. There was no space to keep any glass for drinking water .. we requested them and then on day 2 they gave us big table.

Verified reviewNot very much
The hostess was on her mobile phone a lot of the time and despite it being advertised there was no dinner or breakfast available. Also, the owners of the guest house had a big party the night I stayed including fireworks at about 11 pm and they stayed up talking loudly until 2 am.

Verified reviewGorgeous setting and good value with super lovely host.
Unfortunately my stay coincided with a group who had a party on the terrace next to my room into the early hours of the morning, which made enjoying the area/hiking the next day pretty challenging.

Verified reviewFriendly staff, good location, definitely worth of the price we paid. Spent 10 days in here in winter, very good breakfasts and dinners (local Georgian meals). And excellent home made chacha :-)
We stayed in a room for 6 people, there are absolutely no racks so in winter it is little bit difficult to dry all these clothes when you get back from skiing.

Verified reviewBreakfast is a typical Georgian one - very delicious! Rooms are different, some have more space, others are a bit tiny.
In one of the houses the canal in bathroom had bad oddors!
