How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery clean and comfortable. Spacious room. Toilet and shower seems new too. Kitchen is well equipped. You can do laundry, there’s free coffee and tea. The balcony is a shared space where you can sit and enjoy the view of Kazbegi centre and Gergeti Church sitting on top of the hills. The house is a 10min walk from the centre with a slight incline, just FYI. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewThis guesthouse is honestly perfect. I really enjoyed staying here, it was so comfortable. It is very clean, it feels new and fresh and well kept. There is a kitchen where you can prepare food, refrigerator, dining room, a washing machine, the shower had a very nice setup with both rainfall and handheld showerhead and the water gets really warm. Somehow the temperature inside was always pleasant even though it was scorching hot outside. The view is stunning. There is outdoor seating on the terrace. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The owner knocked on my door with watermelon when I first arrived, which made me feel very welcomed. Very friendly and smiling and helpful! If I come back, I would love to stay here again.
It is a bit of a steep hill up to the guesthouse from the mainstreet (Kazbegi is a mountain village, that’s just the layout of the place), and at first I thought the location might not be optimal because of that, but when you figure the area out a little bit more you realise the location is actually as good as it gets basically - you are close to the main street, but also at a comfortable walking distance from the restaurants that are further uphill, and you have a very nice view. I highly recommend checking out the amazing breakfast buffet at Capra and dinner at Beba!
Thank you for such an assessment.🙏❤️❤️❤️

Verified reviewStaying at Mate's house was an exceptional experience. The location, the room, the bed, the bathroom (practically everything) was excellent. The terrace has an amazing, undisturbed view to the summit of Mount Kazbegi. The hosts are the kindest ever, their hospitality is exceptional. I can't thank them enough to go over and beyond to make our Kazbegi stay the best part of our Georgian journey. Hands down it was 10/10. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much for such an assessment.🙏❤️❤️

Verified reviewthe view is amazing, we took the large room with the big bed and it was spacious and cozy. the shared kitchen is great, equipped with everything you might need (except for spices)
the bed was really squeaky, every little movement was heard really loud and can even wake you up if you're a light sleeper.

Verified reviewA pleasant, newly decorated en suite bedroom with lovely mountain views. The kitchen and dining areas are shared but it wasn't a problem because we were the only ones using them. We were very impressed with how well appointed the kitchen is - plenty of pots, pans, utensils and crockery plus sugar, salt, tea and coffee. The host was lovely and helpful. We would happily stay again.
The bathroom is new and nice, but the shower needs a curtain to stop water going everywhere.
😍😍❤️❤️✨

Verified reviewThe host was responsive and friendly. She even offered to pick us up from the bus station and at night we were welcomed with fruits. :)) The location was few mins away from the center although be mindful that it’s a bit elevated but other than that everything was great. The room was clean and with own bathroom and essentials. The kitchen was a plus since we didn’t expect it at all. And as a couple who prefers cooking it was really amazing!! Plus restaurants, groceries, pharmacy and bakeries are just around the area. Even the mountain freaks office was just a walking distance.
Nothing

Verified reviewIt’s very clean and pleasant, the price-quality ratio is on the level. Special thanks to the owner! Clean and comfortable common kitchen area and a shared terrace with everything you need. The mountain view from the terrace is amazing every time. The room is clean in a good way, ascetic, everything is new in the bathroom. Of the implicit disadvantages: the lack of a table and chair in the room, cold floor. By the way, this didn’t affect the overall good impression of the stay in any way. Thank you 🙏

Verified reviewThe guesthouse is very new. The rooms are really big and nicely furnitured as well as the bathroom. Everything is very clean. The common areas are as well very nicely furnitured with a lot of cool details. The kitchen is very big and well equipped. The price-performance is therefore really good. The view from the balcony on the Kazbeg is stunning. The host is super nice and accommodating and made sure we had everything. Thank you so much!
