How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe homestay is brand new. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the food was very tasty. Highly recommended
The blankets available were much too warm.
Sorry if we ruin your stay one way or another. We always try our best but yeh, sometimes blankets are too warm, air is too pure to breathe and rooms are too clean to sleep in 😄✌️

Verified reviewComing to omalo was the closest i‘ve been to visiting the shire. So vibrant, kids playing on the hills, guests an locals strolling around, having bonfires, the old towers standing proud on top of the village, free roaming horses and cows with no fences, stunning starry sky - ir blew our mind. The host family is extremely nice and the food was fantastic.

Verified reviewFirst I didn't notice the meals were vegetarian, and I am a meat lover. But both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious! The room was great, the owner very polite and helping. And the balcony you eat at with the view on the village- stunning!
Nothing

Thank you again:)

Verified reviewThis place is very likely to be the best place you will find in all of Omalo. We planned to stay 1 night and extended to 3 (would’ve been 4 but it was fully booked). One night in another homestay made it clear that Levan and the family have a spectacular setup. Their home has everything you need (clean, comfy rooms, hot water, all the standard things in order), but something else is special. Extravagant breakfast (even pancakes!) and dinners cooked by the mother and sister, and served on the porch every morning with the ever-stunning views of the mountains. Most evenings Levan starts a bonfire and guests gather for a cozy night under the starry sky! Here Levan is subjected to all types of questions, and has as a result become known as the Google of Tusheti. Do ask him to tell how he met and befriended a local mountain bear! 🐻 We were, unfortunately, not there long enough to meet it!

Verified reviewThis amazing homestay is located in upper Omalo, in view of the old fortifications. It's family owned and run and you can feel the attention and care they put into every aspect of your stay. The rooms are great! Spacious, clean, great showers with hot water and reliable solar electricity 🔌 . The views🏔️ are stunning and the ambience very relaxed. You can also get breakfast and dinner and they are a set menu with ample food even for before or after a full day hike. The menu gets varied every day and the dishes are amazing throughout. You can even ask for a lunch 🌯 pack if you need something for the journey. The peak of the experience was however the helpfulness of Levan, who helped us organise horse treks, transport, back, and even lent me his personal hat for a whole day trip. He is an aspiring local architect and can share insightful takes on local bridges and roads. However, if you really want to have a great conversation with him - bring up football ⚽. He is a huge fan of any kind of sport that involves balls.

Verified reviewThe guesthouse is owned by a lovely Georgian family who are from the Caucasus area. They all make sure you feel welcome and take care of all your needs, whether it is a lunch package before your hike or a beer after. Levan, the son, speaks perfect English and told us everything there is to know about the region. On top of that: - amazing food - comfortable rooms - beautiful view - nice relaxing area - clean bathrooms - hot shower - starlink WiFi - campfire in the evening with chacha tasting
The only negative point I can think of is that I gave my phone number to Levan, the handsome Georgian son of the family, but he hasn’t texted me afterwards.

Verified reviewWonderful place. Levan is very lovely, competent, helpful and funny host. He cares about every single guest so everyone feels good and welcome there. Advantages: + very comfortable bed + delicious vegetarian meals + warm water in the shower (but not in the morning) + beautiful common space for breakfasts and dinners + little cat playin and runnin around the guesthouse all the time + bonfire at the evening + lovely caucasian local doggo asking for scratches
Disadvantages: - the owner doesn't know the exact weight of the local dog
We gonna measure weights of all dogs this summer with USAID program 😁
