How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHotel is located in the centre of old town and has fantastic viewing point on the terrace where breakfast is served. We were lucky with parking spaces near hotel so this was bonus points for us. Breakfast was delicious both days with varieties of the choices. Owner speaking fluent English and it is super nice and helpful.
Rooms need a bit of refreshing for something a little modern.

Verified reviewWe ended up not staying at the Hotel at Gomi 19.
The description of the place must reflect such details as the extremely difficult access (narrow and steep streets) and the lack of an elevator in the four-story old building with many stairs, as well as the breakfast offerings on the fourth floor. It took us a while to find the place and get there because the first driver had a minivan and refused to go up the hill, saying that his car wouldn't be able to turn there. He dropped us off in the square downhill, saying that we had to walk up or take a smaller car. There were six of us with suitcases, so we found a small car that took two people and almost all the suitcases, while the rest of us walked up. The new driver charged 60 GEL ($20) for a three-minute drive. When we finally arrived, we were greeted by a young man standing in the doorway leading to the tiny space inside (not a hall, just a staircase entryway). First, I noticed an old, dirty rug by the door outside, then a lot of flies in the entryway. Flies were circling in the air—at least 20 of them—and we had to wave them away with our hands. After that, my two daughters and I went upstairs to see our rooms. The rooms were okay, although some flies were there as well. We didn't go to the 4th floor to see the terrace, where the breakfast was supposed to be served, and where they have a view to the city. The hotel doesn't have an elevator. There are a LOT of stairs. I was paying attention to that detail as my husband has bad knees and simply cannot go up and down several times a day. I checked almost all reviews for this place and didn't find anything that would alarm me. So we said to the guy that we cannot stay here, although our reservation was unrefundable. We ended up paying more for another hotel in the old city, it wasn't easy, since we needed 3 rooms, and it was 4 pm on Saturday. After that I went to Booking, and cancel the other 3 nights we had for me and my husband, but I couldn't cancel the night from Saturday to Sunday.

The hotel is uphill and a bit difficult to reach by car and on foot But the view from the hotel is worth everything

Verified reviewThe AC in the room worked very well. Room 9 was quiet. The view from the terrasse is phenomenal. The hotel is close to the old city, walkable (even though you need to be in good physical condition to walk up the steep streets) . The breakfast was very good (mostly savoury food: vegetables, cheese, eggs, yogurt, jam, bread, bacon). It is served between 8am and 10am. Mary, the owner, is very helpful and relaxed. Boubou the dog was very friendly. We recommend the hotel.
I would advise against coming by car. The streets are very steep, narrow and extremely hard to navigate through. Even the locals struggle in that area and tend to damage their cars. You can get blocked by other cars too when parked.

Verified reviewGood location also clean and very cozy Georgian feels of the typical homes. However difficult for family specially with small kids because the place is really uphill. At first when we reach there, you need to press the door bell and the staff had some language difficulty. We continued pressing the door bell and awaited almost 10mins outside until the staff came out and she bring her phone and Mari the host of the property was on the other line. That is only the time that they open the door for us. The staff is not aware that they have a guest and the room also is not ready. The floor is slightly dusty, no plastic for garbage, and the small TV also is not working. But that is acceptable. Recommended to have toilet bidet. My suggestion also is do not put a credit card on booking if the property was not accepting. Before I book to property, I need to enter my credit card information and expecting that my booking was already paid. After checkout, Mari said that they were not charging via credit card and we need to pay via cash.
