Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt rained and the electricity went out for half the day which was a bit inconvenient but not a major issue as it came back on in time for evening showers.
Central location and good breakfast for 30lari. Room was spacious. Shared shower was hot and clean. Host spoke good English.

HungaryThe breakfast for 30 GEL/person was nothing like on the pocture. It was very simple and not enough. One slice of bread, one slice of cheese one egg and no vegetables. Very overpriced., not recommended. The second mording we had a feast int the nearby restaurant for the same price ( khacapuris, khabduri, omlette, joghurt with raspberry jam, beverages and very good espresso. Without the breakfast it was 10 points.

United KingdomIt was wonderful, nothing we didn’t like other than the fact we couldn’t stay longer!
I felt we were so lucky to be able to spend the night in Ushguli - what a truly stunning place especially after the Mestia day trippers have departed! The guesthouse is very homely, dinner was tasty and the shower was perfect! What we particularly loved was the horse riding. We did about 2 hours (this was enough for me and my six year old) but for the same price you can do a 5 hour ride to the glacier. I wish we could have spent longer here. The new Ushguli-Kutaisi road is excellent (4 hours) - we left early at 6am with a driver and were easily able to make the 11:47 train Kutaisi-Tbilisi arriving at 16:00. I’m sure this new road and the train connections will mean more visitors to Ushguli, not only hikers. Thank you again and highly recommended.

Czech RepublicAbsolutely wonderful! As breathtaking as Ushguli itself is, to have the opportunity to stay in its heart, with the locals, is unforgettable. We received a very warm welcome from the host family and they prepared an unparalleled dinner and breakfast for us, showcasing the creme de la creme of the local cuisine. The accommodation is kind of an "open house", there is a community space/living room and a terrace with amazing views. Definitely recommend!

United KingdomThe guesthouse is in the centre of the village and easy to find when you arrive in Ushguli. The girls who run the guesthouse are wonderful - always happy to help with anything and they even found me a seat in a shared taxi back to Mestia with guests from another accommodation.

United StatesMy room didn't have any view.. but on the other hand, it was very reasonable. I got magnificent views once I stepped out the door of the lodging, so I didn't wind up lacking.
Ushguli is a rather unique place in Georgia, and staying here at Nizharadze's Tower was wonderful. Nizharadze's Tower is within the second cluster of buildings when coming from Mestia, and there are plenty of Svan Towers, livestock footprints, and narrow lanes. The hostesses are wonderful, insisting that I take off my shoes at the door (which is the Georgian custom.. and seeing how some of the alleyways are quite dirty, it is a sensible request!) My room was warm and comfortable and the hostesses meals were plentiful and delicious. I was also able to meet an interesting cross-section of tourists hailing from places such as Czechia and Japan. The hostesses have a few friendly but unobtrusive dogs on the premises... and I suspect they help feed some of the less lucky canines in the neighborhood as well.

GeorgiaThe owners were over the top sweet and helpful. They took the initiative to arrange outings, glacier, castle, church for me. The meals were substantial, home cooked and yummy. The chocolates with tea were a nice touch. Too bad I did not have my moka pot and Lavazza with me. Toasty room and comfy bed. Large shower room and separate WC. Very clean. I loved the hamlet with all the towers. The cows nearby were very accustomed to being talked to and petted. Mountain doggies were certainly some of the best guides.

ChinaMaybe a trash bin in the room or shower room will be better.
Imagine how comfortable it is to stay in such a cozy guesthouse after a 14km hiking. We are thankful that we didn’t head back to Mestia. It looks like a traditional tower from outside but it’s very modern inside, equipped with quite clean toilet and shower room which are kindly separated. Hot water, coffee powder and teabags are available. Washing machine, even a sauna room to dry your wet shoes and clothes. Bedroom is also perfect. The girl in charge speaks good English and offered us a lot of help. Dinner charges 30gel per person which is fair enough though we didn’t have it. And the room fee is exactly the same as your booking reservation. Don’t worry they won’t overcharge. Highly recommend this place.

A very beautiful, old historic house that they have taken so much care of. You can understand that people love this small guesthouse and give their best to their guests! The decoration is amazing, keeping all the traditional elements of the region. Very clean, warm, comfortable beds with nice linens and good bathroom. The people that run this place are beautiful and very helpful, they made our stay in Ushguli comfortable and a great experience. We loved it!

A beautiful old guesthouse right in the heart of the Chazhashi settlement, a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the base of Ushguli. It was easy to walk everywhere and nice to be staying in the most historic and untouched part of Ushguli. The place is cosy and homely, and it felt like being a guest in someone’s home. We even had a cow peeking in our window one morning! Naze was a wonderful host and speaks excellent English. She answered all our questions and helped us organise day trips and transport back to Mestia. The food was also delicious. We had breakfast and dinner every day. Do yourself a favour and spend at least two nights here. It is worth it!
