Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere is nothing that quite compares to Nino's kindness, warmth and hospitality. I had a long day whrn I arrived and Nino welcomed me with some warm soup and a smile. It's no wonder this place is often fully booked out! This is my second time at Old Town Guesthouse, the first I stayed in one of the other rooms that accesses the downstairs kitchen and this time with Nino, which has the upstairs kitchen/bathroom. It is the best guesthouse in Mestia with a garden next to the river to relax, the sound of the river to lull you to sleep, central to the city and at the beginning of the Mestia to Ushguli hike. The guesthouse is impeccably clean and the room I stayed in had enough space to do stretches or yoga. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there was a dresser and mirror. Absolutely amazing space! I am so sad to leave and hope to come back just to spend time and relax here. Thank you Nino ❤️ 😊

AustriaAll was good
Amazing location, close to the center but still super quiet, you only hear the river at night. The owner is lovely, before leaving she gave me a huge bag of cakes!! She was really sweet and especially as a woman travelling alone I felt comfortable and safe. Everything was clean and the terrace and the garden perfect to relax. Came back after the trek and stayed there again! Thanks for everything!

LithuaniaFrom the very first moment, we felt welcome and at home. The hostess, Nino, is a special person - heartwarming, caring, and generous. She was incredibly hospitable, and her food was sooo delicious, made with love. It always made us smile to see her and have little interactions. Even though we don’t speak Georgian - her warmth transcended language:) The guesthouse location is excellent, close to the bus station and supermarkets. The house is next to a river, so there's always the calming sound of water in the background. We especially enjoyed our breakfasts in the garden. It’s a little heaven for anyone looking to relax, rest and escape the fast-paced world. The room was simple, yet it had everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable, which is a big plus!

Some people who give reviews say that you can give only 10 when is 4 star hotel. I do not agree with that. At Old Town guesthouse you get a very good Georgian accomodation, with a 4 star service from mama Nimo. Here you have you 4 star. Therefore a 10, is definitely the right rating. Regards Rene

ItalyThe stay in this beautiful guesthouse in stone and wood touched my heart, both for the very relaxing and comfortable context, and above all for the host, Nino, a sweet and smiling lady with such a kind and generous soul that made me feel at home, pampered and welcomed with a love never encountered anywhere else in the world. The guesthouse has a large covered balcony, with a beautiful view of the mountains, a delightful garden and, a true rarity here in Svaneti, a spacious living room with a fireplace. Suggestive and romantic to stay in front of the fire while it snows outside!!! The lovely room was large, clean, heated, well furnished; the comfortable bed smelled of laundry. There is also a practical kitchen, with tea and coffee always available. I will never forget Nino's smile, always with some dish to offer in her hand: freshly baked cake, warm bread, kachapuri. If you pass by Mestia, I strongly recommend you to stay here, not only one night but at least 10, to stock up on smiles and to warm your heart as long as possible. Thank you Nino, a woman with a big heart, a rare and precious pearl!!!!

GeorgiaWhere should i start? This is Hands Down THE best experience i have ever had in ANY guest house i have ever been to, anywhere in the world. A generous, caring, AMAZING super friendly Host. With a smile that never leaves her face. She is the kindest most generous lady I have ever met traveling the world. The room is big and super clean, with a large window and a side door with a little radiator space warmer that is more than enough to keep the room cosy. The guesthouse sits on the back quiet neighborhood of the city center. It's a 2 min walk to the main street where you find busses and all the shops and restaurants yet soooo quiet and peaceful with the soothing sound of the river flowing right in front of the big wide green courtyard. The kitchen is fantastic and the bathroom is spacious and very comfortable. Can't stop talking about how wonderful the host is. An absolute GEM. I HIGHLY recommend staying at this place as long as you appreciate the value of such a wonderful place and amazing host. Thank you for everything!!! 💙💙💙

MalaysiaI had a wonderful two days here. It’s very peaceful but still close to the town center. The lady who runs the guesthouse is incredibly kind and warm. She provided delicious free breakfast and dinner, with freshly baked bread that was still warm, paired perfectly with her homemade apple jam. She even gifted me some Svan salt! When I come back to Mestia, I’ll definitely stay here again.

ItalyI really had a great time here. The rooms are warm, comfortable and clean, the position is perfect to reach the main square where the marshruktas leave and there is a kitchen for the guests. But above all, the hosts are super kind and caring and the mother makes delicious food every morning for breakfast and every evening for dinner. I would recommend this place to everyone visiting Svaneti, it’s definitely worth it.

GeorgiaThe guest house is located in the central part of Mestia, where everything is very close, literally a 5-minute walk. On the territory of the guest house, there is a large spacious, and very beautiful courtyard, and a particularly beautiful view of the mountains opens from the balcony. As we were explained, the house is divided between two families, in our part of the house we were met by beautiful and hospitable girls and their wonderful mother Nino, who with her warmth, attention, and care will make you feel at home. Everything was very clean and tidy inside, in the small kitchen there was everything you need, a small refrigerator, stove, kettle, there is always tea and coffee on the table, and most importantly, delicious food prepared by Nino. On the ground floor, there is a bar with a fireplace where they will light a fire for you whenever you want, which gives a special atmosphere of antiquity, comfort, and peace. I will never forget this place from where I just did not want to leave, but I will definitely come back here because all these feelings that I felt here are the merit of this beautiful family
