Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Russia- Ridiculous shower without a door or a curtain; the towels on the hanger easily get wet. Why does a good modern bathroom come so often with functionality sacrificed for a stupid trend? - No fridge - Something flickered periodically with a white light in the corner of the ceiling at night; was it a smoke detector or a malfunctioning light bulb? - The atmosphere at the swimming pool, including the music, seemed to be completely out of sync with the overall feeling of the place. And the plastic Elvises on the ground floor of the dining hall just freak you out... - The fruits served for the meals were completely unripe, as if bought in a supermarket, — while nearby at the Tskaltubo market they could've been bought just as ripe as they should be
- The feeling of being in a sanatorium where my grandmother had stayed several times! And the chance to see some leftovers from 40 years ago - Filling meals (not fine dining really, just some staple Georgian food); an all-you-can-eat buffet for 35 GEL (lunch) or 40 GEL (dinner) is a good deal for those who eat a lot, but maybe not so much for those on a diet - Properly renovated bathrooms - 5 min walk from the Bathhouses #6 & #1 - Friendly staff, permitted us to stay for an hour longer past the check-out time for free

GermanyThe rooms were large and clean, and the grounds were beautiful, if a bit neglected in places. However, the spa hotel has seen better days; everything seems a bit worn and old.

NetherlandsWe didn’t like the vibe at the pool to be honest. There was quite loud music and not our taste.
The rooms were very nice and friendly staff.

United Statesonly real complaint is the breakfast buffet wasn’t great, could’ve used more things like fresh fruit and yoghurt. the property is a bit shabby but again, it’s a soviet-era hotel. i loved exploring the unrestored abandoned other half.
i mean, you go there for one reason and one reason only: it’s a soviet-era throwback with soviet furniture and you can get a taste of tskaltubo’s glory era. no idea how it compares with any of the other hotels in tskaltubo but i don’t care—i wanted a retro soviet experience and i got it. that said, as a hotel, it was clean, staff were reasonably nice (especially the guy at the lobby bar!), and the bathrooms were updated and modern. the pool is nice too.

United StatesThe food was pretty not great. Suggest eating out in kutaisi instead.
It was a great place to stay to learn more about the old spa culture from Soviet times. The quad room was big, air con was cold, and the resort was nice. The kids loved the pool. Close to get to see the old abandoned sanitariums!

New ZealandParts are a bit dated, something of an identity crisis, with a DJ and pool with bar. We were under the mistaken impression that there were spa facilities included, but these are actually only some unclear treatments you can pay extra for. The buffet dinner was convenient but expensive.
Staying here is a unique chance to stay in a sanitarium, albeit one renovated to a modern standard. The chance to swim was great and we were allowed to walk around the un renovated wings of the building

AustraliaThe room needed some maintenance and was showing signs of some wear. For example loose tiles in the bathroom / shower etc
Loved the pool, loved the ability to explore the unrenovated parts of the complex and to see Stalin's suite!

For history buffs, a gem. Many abandoned sanatoriums nearby The comparison between old and new wings shows the kind of effort the owner has put in. Amazing

SloveniaThey are living from their past glory. The pool has cold water. Not all the facilities are up and running. Entering the hotel with the car is confusing (no signs, old Georgian guy working the barrier to enter the premises, who doesn't speak English). If you explore the premises, there is a good chance you'll be yelled at.
The historical aspect of the hotel is amazing. This hotel is an experience and it gives you a chance to feel that you traveled back in time. Photogenic and full of plants. It's clean, it's comfortable. Breakfast is decent. On site parking is available.

Saudi ArabiaNothing major, just a suggestion to improve the coffee services and snacks since the area lacks such services. I noticed the staff is doing their best to help and improve their quality services.
In the park, for relaxing away from noise, within walking distance to spring number 6 and considered as a historic building.

Great way to experience a fascinating piece of history. Best thing about the place was being able to explore it at night. The local dogs became companions we felt safe with. A good range on offer for breakfast. Staff gave us a tour of the really interesting parts.

United KingdomI really enjoyed the stay, however, the images on the website are not a complete likeness. Legends Tskaltubo is visibly more run down than advertised although this wasn’t a problem for us. Small details were missed, for example, the fridge was not plugged in which would have been useful during our stay.
The location was fabulous, making it easy to explore the grounds and wider area if interested in the history of Tskaltubo. The staff were all fantastic - friendly and helpful, helping to create an absolutely unforgettable stay. For history enthusiasts the traces of the past are there, you just need to look a little closer. Kindness always wins! Having read previous reviews I was surprised to find that breakfast was tasty with a wide selection of food options. The bathroom was refurbished to a very high standard and the shower was great. The room was well equipped with slippers, dressing gowns, two mugs & two glasses (although no tea: coffee) and a kettle. There are two wonderful stray, black dogs (pictured) who seem to reside at legends, they may look scary to some but were gentle souls who joined us on long 5+ hour walks on multiple days.
