How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe have stayed more than 3 weeks in the deluxe apartment. It was everything we needed for a long winter stay in Mestia. Most important there is a fire place, so even if there was no electricity we had warm in the apartment (with -20 degrees outside). Comfortable couch and nice table to eat or work. Good beds and a big wardrobe to organise your stuff. Big boiler for a long, warm showers. Kitchen is not in the unit, but it's just 3 steps away in the next building, good equipped. Gueshouse also has a generator so electricity shortage is not a problem. We could use the washing machine of the hosts. Few minutes away from the city center but nice and quiet. Very friendly hosts and the dog. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment! Madloba.

Verified reviewNice place, clean room, fresh towels, comfortable bed and pillows, warm blanket. Nice and helpful owners. Delicious homemade breakfast. 10 minutes walk to the center. Beautiful view.
There was no night light near the bed and only one socket. There is no shower curtain in the bathroom and no shelf for bath accessories. The toilet doesn't drain well. However, the bathroom is very clean and everything is new.

Verified reviewIf you're looking for a place to stay in Svaneti in warm season, it's okay. It's in a more rural part of town, all surrounded by mountains. Own territory near house is nice
1. Vibes/experience. If you only spend the nights, it's fine. Due to the weather, we stayed in a lot and the relationship with house owners turned weird. Owners sometimes had guests of their own who made our stay extremely unpleasant. They apologised in the end but the overall experience from a memorable trip was spoiled. 2. The heating. The fireplace in the room was a nice addition, but it is poorly constructed and heating up the apartment with it was impossible. Two electric heaters provided weren't enough and we had to move them around the apartment. And — I had to split wood with axe myself. It's a fun activity on its own, but still weird to supply your own heating in a guest house :/

Verified reviewReally fabulous hosts. One of us was bitten by a dog in Mestia and the host drove us to the hospital and waited until we’d been seen. Excellent gated parking for motorcycles. Clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast!
Only downside, it can be a bit noisy at night from local dogs and cars on adjacent road. Not hosts fault though!

Verified reviewThe apartment is clean and has enough space for three grownups. The host is kind and responsive, he made everything possible to make us feel comfortable. There is a common kitchen with all you need to cook. The view from the room is on the Svan towers and mountains around - perfect motivation to wake up early and go for a walk or snowboard. Also they have a really cute dog.

They have a big juvenile dog (over 100 lbs) that continuously jumps on guests. I’m not normally fussy about this type of stuff but the dog would not behave and would bring a bunch of dirt up on my jacket and other belongings… also cut my hand by biting it while trying to play. Additionally, I was there in late October and the rooms did not heat up all that well
