How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI paid 750€ for 3nights / single person. For me it is a lot of money and I thought to be treated like a welcome guest. On every three evenings (!) for me it was not possible to get a place in the hotel own restaurant because of overbooking! I am not lying: second evening was my birthday !!! But after all: i kindly asked for hot water (!)for my instant noodles , the answer was : yes i can have - but i have to pay for !!!! I am not kidding here! (After an argument with the manager i got it for free though) Up to my opinion: NOT ACCEPTABLE! Make mor offers that EVERY guest can eat for dinner (confusing fact: breakfast is possible for all) And including HOT WATER in that pricing system!! Never again

Verified reviewThe breakfasts were excellent, the view of the fjord was fantastic, we also ordered a Greenlandic buffet dinner - a great culinary experience. Overall, we were very satisfied, the staff was helpful and willing. The communication from the reception before and during our holiday was great. The free transfer from the airport to the hotel and to the harbour when we left for Disko Island was seamless.

Verified reviewThe hotel was really cool. Coffey was okay and the service was welcoming. I really liked the the bathroom. New renovated look really pushed the experiense a noch up. The whole apartments vibe was good. Cool light both in the bathroom, and in the master room. I was cool that there was an option to increase and lower the intesity of the light. Good job.
Staff was really kind but it was a disappointment when i didnt get delivered if i wanted a small coffey or my food upstairs. In most of the hotels this is solved with room servise option. Allso the fact that the hotel informed me in advance that even though i will arrive in ilulissat at 20, will I be able to order food while the kichen is open and eat the food while the restaurant is open wasnt that accurate. I Arrived to the restaurant and they told me that i wont be able to order food, because it's greenlantic buffet day. In a way I understand, but when u really think about the customer service, i should be able to order anything while kichen is open. Does this this mean that if i dont like greenlantik food, i wont eat. When payin 2000 cronos + willing to pay for food i expect really good experiense.

Verified reviewGranny style furniture and, which is more important, no any proteins except pork on the breakfast. No chicken, no fish, nothing. For that price tag — shame on you!

Verified reviewThe property was very well located. Our room was good with comfortable beds and excellent shower. The staff were very pleasant and helpful - we were too late to book the buffet so staff member said they would let us know if table came free- when we got back that evening she came to our room to tell us table available- excellent customer service. Food was very good and well presented (avoid the buffet I would say, not being a buffet person!)
The floor coverings could do with an upgrade- and get rid of those awful breakfast dishes- ghastly

Verified reviewWonderful stays. I used this hotel as a base for launching off on excursions in the Disko Bay area. They were kind enough to hold my bags and understanding when I got held up by weather delays. The service is great. The shuttle bus convenient for my needs. Communication is great via Booking app. The view is probably one of the best you'd get in Ilulissat. Ask for 4th floor, especially 418 and 419. The rooms are comfortable, probably a bit worn, but did not negate from the stay.
Be prepared to haul your bags up the stairs but the most you would need to take is two flights.

Verified reviewThe views. Oh, my word. It has to be the best views from a hotel you can get in Ilulissat. The restaurant of the hotel could be the most outdated place and still, it'd be great because the views are insane. It's truly magical to wake up every morning and have your breakfast overlooking icebergs. We wish we had been able to afford the rooms with view to the fjord - please book one if you can, it's worth it. The views to the road are not awe-inspiring. The staff are very cheerful and helpful, especially the waiting staff at dinner. The food is very good. I still remember the taste of the homemade jam and the traditional Danish tart. The burgers are delicious. The hotel is also very close to the town centre so you can go do all the activities without spending a cent on taxis. Will definitely stay here next time we visit.
Even though we could check-in early, I wish we could've waited a bit longer so the room, especially the bathroom had been cleaned properly. I even found a scrunchy under the towels which means they were not replaced (at least the bottom one). And the toilet seat was up and the toilet was not spotless. We were too tired to care so we cleaned the toilet seat but it does seem like a common occurrence in Greenland. Still, for a hotel so pricey, the cleanliness needs to be worked on.

Verified reviewThe location can't be beat - it's right on the water and the main pick up spot for many of the tours. Walking to everything takes 10 minutes or else. It's very centrally located. And they'll send a shuttle to pick you up and drop you off at the airport - it's the same shuttle for Hvide Falk, Hotel Arctic, and Icefjord. The staff, especially Luisa, was fantastic. They go out of their way for everything. The breakfast is large and delicious. Housekeeping comes every other day and the rooms are clean. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Stay in the main property! It has been recently renovated and is beautiful. You can stop reading now if that's your plan. If you're considering one of the apartments, here is the reality: We booked an apartment with a loft to fit our family (the loft fits one extra person). I didn't realize that the apartments were NOT renovated. This is the oldest hotel in Ilulissat and I'm fairly certain the apartments have never been updated. They were both pretty unusable. The shower is just a weak faucet near the ceiling that is less than two feet from toilet with no door or good barrier. So after a shower, the floor near the toilet is a huge puddle for hours. The water is quite finicky and never a stable temperature for long. The bathroom lock is just a broken hole in the door. There was technically a kitchenette but it was not usuable. The kettle had crust inside. The water from the sink came out a bunch of colors (probably from the very old piping) so we just bought bottled water. There are about 30 steep stairs to carry your bags to/from the loft. That was tough - especially when we arrived after midnight. There are no bell hops, so if your bags are big, they'll suggest to walk around the side of the hotel one bag at a time where there is a snowy hill to traverse instead of the very steep steps. It was nice to have a little "mud room" for our wet boots and plenty of room for the family.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was a wonderful traditional European continental breakfast. The location provided wonderful views and centrally located to other attractions in town.
The shower plugged up one evening, so the trap in the shower drain had to be cleaned by the staff. There was an occasional smell in the room that came and went.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in a beautiful location, the rooms are brand new, and the mattresses are incredibly comfortable. Despite the cold December in Ilulissat, we stayed warm and cozy in this comfortable hotel, with an excellent breakfast and a great price. The young woman at the reception was very friendly, and the airport shuttle was very convenient. It's a shame we couldn't try the restaurant, which has great reviews, as it was closed. I hope to return one day.
