He offered activities that he hosted himself, cooked an amazing dinner, and offered me to stay at his place upon returning to Ilulissat – hospitality that I will always keep in my heart. The owner Bent, went above and beyond with his hospitality. Such a kind and gentle soul. The flat was very well located. Close to the visitor centre and to the markets, shops and everything. There’s everything you need to make simple meals in the kitchen. Bent is always there if you need to ask any questions or need any help. I miss Ilulissat and the beautiful people there already. Would love to go back again and recommend it to anyone who is not after luxury but to experience local life and the culture. Thank you again dear Bent for making our Greenland trip very memorable and welcoming 🙏

The location is a bit of a walk from the downtown, if you have a luggage, not easy to walk as there are no sidewalks. But we knew where we were booking, we wanted walkable distance to Icefjord center and Sermermiut hike. So it did not bother us. Moreover, Bent offers a ride. Overall, everything in the apartment was very good.

Bent, the owner, is very caring, there is plenty of food for breakfast. Kitchen fully equipped, supermarket very close by, so possible to make a decent meal. Walkable distance to the Icefjord center and to the center. There are 3 rooms (maybe 4?) that share a nicy furnished living room and the kitchen.

if you wanna like flexible and enjoy some local feel then staying at Ilulissat apartment is a good option! It is within 10min walk to town area where there’s 2-3 supermarkets for groceries (Brugseni & Pisifik). Cook a nice meal of using Greenlandic ingredients will probably save you some bucks too as compared to eating out at the restaurant. the host Ben provides good selection of food for breakfast. The apartment location is also short walk to the start of Blue walking trail.

We had communication problems when it was time to arrive and leave. The owner is better in Danish and Greenlandic. English communication is not as good. Our departure flight was cancelled in the early morning and we sent messages to the owner to state we no longer needed a ride to the airport. We wished to stay until checkout at 11am, it was raining and we needed to find lodging. The owner arrived at 9:15 and told us we needed to leave and go to the airport. He told us he needed to prepare the room for the next guests. We hoped to stay until checkout with no lodging yet, it was raining. The airline found us lodging and we left at 10am walking with our suitcases. The owner later messaged that we could have stayed in the living room until 6pm. We had already left after he arrived at 9:30am telling us we needed to leave. We had paid for a transfer fee, which was not used.He did come to take us to the airport, but we had texted him at 8am the flight was cancelled. We also paid for a taxi upon arrival even though we had paid a transfer fee. I did not feel welcome and the price for three beds in a room was close to a high end hotel in USA. We did not have breakfast, although there was a drawer in the refrigerator labeled for booking.com guests.

The rate was less than any of the hotels. This was the only place available for one night. Greenland lodging is much higher than typical USA.
