How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Screeching door hinges, a window facing noisy and polluted street

Although there was parking in front of the building, it was occupied by the next door motorbike shop without argument.

The motorcycles driving past the street were quite noisy so it might affect the quality of sleep a little bit. The apartment floors could have been more clean. Also, kindly fix the toilet seat which was quite annoying.
Location was just perfect, I could walk to the main spots in Athens and then take a tram/metro nearby the apartment. The apartment itself is also modest and comfortable enough and didn’t really encounter any negative aspects. My room was private enough and I couldn’t really hear other visitors during late/early hours.

The air conditioning unit was not working properly
Central and clean but a little messy understanding the access system. That said the owners were responsive and helpful.

It was very centrally located to Syntagama square, and walking distance from the bus station/public transport. The check in process was very smooth and we were allowed to self check in. The bathroom and kitchen were both clean, and the host provided some tourist information as well. The wifi worked and the rooms were cozy. We had a great stay here!

Very noisy, because of the very busy street with 3-line roads, but somehow managable with earplugs Communication from the hosts makes you feel like an idiot or a 5-year old, not very dainty with CAPS, so many rules, warnings and funny thing is, that with alllll this text sent by email and via booking.com inbox at the end they sent me two different codes for the main key and none of them worked :D

On a main road so could be a little bit noisy
Great location for the Acropolis, Plaka and Monastaraki areas of Athens. Great restaurants nearby. Very comfortable and great to have a kitchen

I received a lot of messages about the door's code, and each message informed a different code, but when I came all codes were wrong. I checked my email and a new code was sent at time of my departure.

The apartment is located at a very busy and loud avenue nearby Akropolis. There is a weird smell in the apartment. I don't think it's coming from the motorcycle store downstairs but is rather due to maybe detergents used for cleaning and doing the laundry, more like cigarette smell covered with air refresher or sth. I stayed for a week during which time I was on my own for 5 nights so not a bad deal to have the entire apartment for myself. Wifi was fast so convenient for HO. Kitchen is well equipped. The cleaning lady was very friendly and chatty. Overall I had a pleasant stay.

The apartment building is a little bit old, it shows here and there, but it didn't bother me to much.
All necessary amenities were there, they delivered what you pay for and more, i think it was good value for that price. The staff i met was very friendly and helpful, communication was excellent, an all was explained very well with kind reminders on little notes everywhere.
