How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe view, the staff... in a word, excellent. Also, the proximity to everything interesting and worth seeing is a big plus. The breakfast is extensive with lots of choice. I recommend it without hesitation.
Depending on the wind direction, the ventilation of the restaurant's kitchen in front of the hotel could smell when we were sitting on the balcony.

Verified reviewBreakfast was good. Sitting is outside in a private terrace facing the sea, it could be warm in the summer, but we stayed at the winter…
The room is a little bit small, and the lower rooms have no view at all

Verified reviewA pleasant and cozy hotel with a fantastic breakfast, stunning views, and warm, attentive staff. The ample closets and drawers make for an especially practical and comfortable stay.
While the stairs are picturesque and functional, they could be challenging for those with knee or joint issues.

Verified reviewThe location was great, near to everything
It was very hot when we stayed in Parga and the air conditioner couldn’t keep the room cool because of taking the key out and all the power switches off!
Hello Mr Lucas, Thank you for your review. We appreciate your opinion. About the Air Condition, we have to say that the A/C that we have equip our rooms are very powerful, absolutely enough to cool down the rooms and we never had a complaint about that. But of course, wouldn’t be possible to allow any guest to operate such a power and electricity demanding device, to be operated 24 hours a day. And we are sure that this is happen to all the hotels in the world. Thank you and we are looking forward to see you again in the future. Best regards, Tsovilis Dimitris Acrothea Hotel Parga/Epirus/Hellas

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Acrothea in Parga. The room was very quiet, well set up, and just a short walk to waterfront restaurants and shops. We had an ocean view from our balcony, and all seats on the terraced breakfast patio had a view. The staff were very friendly.

Not to have 71 steps to get down to the beach (I am 81 years old) but the hotels location and views from the balcony over-rode that concern

Verified reviewLocation - ideal: if you go down the hotel stairs, you get to the waterfront with all it`s bars and restaurants, but you may also use the upper access to the town, and in some 3-5 minutes you are at the city center. There was a kitchenette and a coffee-machine in the room. Good speed of internet. The view was the main criterium for me to choose this hotel, and it didn`t disappoint (look at my photos, made from the balcony). The room appeared to be cozy enough, everyday day good cleaning. The breakfasts in this hotel is something you should not miss: served on a terrace overlooking the Parga harbour, these are buffet breakfasts + they make eggs for you upon your choice (scrambled, omelet etc.). The stuff is very polite and welcoming: Alexandra takes a good care of her guests, and Dimitris, the owner, does his best so that everyone can feel comfortable at his place. Upon our check-out we were presented by a bottle of local wine. If you arrive by car, there are three parking slots near the upper entrance to the hotel, or you may park at the opposite side of the road beneath the mountain. While in Parga, visit taverna Sakis as well, run by the same owner Dimitris - the best meal we had in Parga.
The only thing which we could just recommend to be improved is the mattresses. Or maybe it`s the bed itself, but it is a bit jumpy. When one person turns on the bed, another one wakes up, because he is swaying on the bed. I`m sure, this is not a big deal for those usually having no problems with sleep.

Verified reviewYou have to be OK with climbing/descending stairs. That being said it is a LOVELY hotel. The room is nicely decorated, it's equipped with pretty much everything you might need, everything looks brand new. And then the VIEW is to die for. I could just stay on the balcony for hours. For restaurants you go down a few stairs, 2 minutes, the beach 3 minutes. Breakfast very good, people very friendly. It was a one night pit stop on our way back to Athens, but if we come back to this area I would ABSOLUTELY stay here.

Verified reviewFabulous location overlooking the harbour! Beautiful views from the balcony. Great location right in the centre of plenty of bars and restaurants. Staff were super friendly and room was clean. Bed was nice and comfy.
There are a lot of steps up from the harbour to the hotel but the view is absolutely worth it and the steps were not a problem for us!
