How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA fabulous stay, it completely exceeded expectations. The room was spacious, clean, and cute; the bathroom was a little small but adequate. The real soul of the place is Kulla (I hope that's how you spell it), who exudes a zest for life every day and drives the place forward. I'll be back just for her.

Salty tap water, left white streaks on my body after showering. Very hard water, maybe invest in an overall filter.

Verified reviewIt was a five-minute walk to the best beach on the island in Perissa. There was a mountain that could be climbed so the little town offers a wide range of activities. The beachside walkway is fantastic and the restaurants offer great food and great prices. There are several big shops a short walk from the property.

Verified reviewVery friendly host that gave us a warm welcome and booked the taxi to come pick us up from the airport. The place was spotless and it was a very convenient location, the bus stop is just a few steps away, and so is the beach.
The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable but we could still sleep just fine

Verified reviewWe stayed here for a week in these traditional style rooms and we loved it here. The room was clean and was cleaned every two days. Our host was Mama Koula who was so lovely and couldn't do enough to help. It was so peaceful sitting outside, just what you want on holiday. The beach was about 10 minutes walk for us,(we're pensioners) but less for younger people and just around the corner was a bakery (open 24hrs) and Carrefour super market. The bus stop was a few minutes walk away. The bus from here went to Fira and cost 2.50 euros each way and took about 20 minutes. We would definitely stay here again.

Verified reviewExcellent owner, woman, Kula. The apartment was excellent. Excellent shower pressure, excellent air conditioning, excellent TV, excellent fridge, excellent location, 500 metres walk through a quiet neighbourhood to the beach. Excellent sink to wash your clothes, comfortable beds. Clean bed sheets, and good quality clean towels. Perissa is the best location to stay in Santorini, it has a large 3km long beach, with many restaurants, and a bus that goes every hour to Fira. I will book with this property again when we return to Santorini.
Nothing.

Verified reviewThere is no satisfaction anywhere, full of fraud
Their room is very small, less than 10 square meters, but the description on the Internet is 25 square meters, and washing machine, kitchen, etc., but in fact, there is nothing, and it is a family, their English is not good, complete confusion, bad attitude. You're cheating consumers! Everyone be careful!!

Verified reviewMadame Koula is the essence of Greek hospitality, my luck brought me here as I had left from my job and I needed a place to stay. She welcomed me at night time, and her sweet words gave me some courage I so much needed. The room is a beautiful little two beds studio, the morning I woke up and I found other people that were staying there having their morning coffe with Madame Koula and her lovely husband! She gave us all her wishes as it happened an other gentleman was in search of work! Later that evening we both had found work and I’m really great full that I found this place when I was a bit down on my luck! Don’t even think about it, just go and meet this people with their beautifully maintained rooms and their positive energy!!! Thank you Madame!

Verified reviewWelcoming host, near Perissa beach.
Rooms seemed smaller than other similar priced apartments. Air-conditioner not very powerful, we felt hot. A microwave would have been useful. Some confusion and misunderstandings about car parking.

Verified reviewStaff were really kind. It was a family run property. We were greeted on our late arrival and seen off when we were leaving. We accidentally slept in because our phone clocks were wrong and received more worry than anything else in case we had missed our ferry. Very kind people.
