How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWonderful welcome by Kostas 5he owner. Everything was clean, breakfast handmade by his wife, very good. Costas did everything to make us feel comfortable and gave us good tips for restaurants for dinner. It's a good location to go out on trips in the area. In the evening there's a long beach with restaurants, cafes, shops and things to do. Great view of the sunset.
The shower was small.

Verified reviewThe hotel was clean and comfortable with a lovely welcome. We booked this hotel last minute as we had another hotel booked but it was so poor, we rebooked this through Booking.com. Thank goodness we did, the owners were so welcoming, the hotel was clean and bright and they served a wonderful breakfast!
The only problem was in the bathroom. The entrance into the shower cubicle was so narrow that you needed the figure of a supermodel and to be a bit of a contortionist to get in! 🤣🤣

Verified reviewThe host was super kind, preparing every day an amazing breakfast especially for us as we were before the season as the only guests. Breakfast made with home made products, orange jam was unbeatable. The location is perfect for discovering the Pelion region. Also, the big terrace gave us an opportunity to start each day with a short session of yoga overlooking the garden.

Verified reviewGood hotel. Kostas is very friendly and is prepared to help you with everything. A really good host. We liked the view of the balcony (of room 12), however we realise there are balconies with less privacy. The room was spotlesly cleaned every day The bathroom was basic but ok and enough water pressure. The breakfast was good with fresh products. The hotel is somewhat old fashioned, but decent and very clean. Location is good. 15 minutes walk to kala nera beach and centre (with a nice boulevard and good restaurants in a Greek ambiance)
The atmosphere of the breakfast room: inside, dark, with Greek television and old furniture. We advise them to serve it outside.

Verified reviewThe whole experience was fantastic. Costas, the owner, was very kind and helpful. He made us feel at home. He cooked, answered, advised, and was always there to welcome us when we came back from our daily travels. He seems to really enjoy having guests and assiting them. The cleanliness was top-notch. Every day the room was cleaned and was spotless. The breakfast was very good, we had a great bouffe. 90% of the veggies and fruits are grown by Costas, the cake is made by his wife, and they also make very good jams (I specifically recommend the kiwi). The bouffe was mostly the same every time, but the hot course changed every morning. The hot course is cooked when you come to breakfast, and all of them were delicious. One time Costas cooked an omelet with ham, another time he cooked scrambled eggs with bacon, etc. The room was spacious and welcoming. We had a big balcony with a pretty view of the yard and of the beautiful mountains of Pelion. The double bed was comfortable and big. There was private parking by the hotel, yet it is not marked. Costas will tell you where he wants you to park and it is in a very convenient location. The location was fantastic for us, yet it depends on your aims of traveling Pelion. We could drive to the beaches of Kala Nera, Koropi, and Kato Gatzea in around 3 minutes. Getting to Kala Nera beach would take some time by foot we didn't think there is a reason not driving there, as it took 2 minutes and finding parking was easy. Also there are better beaches in other villages, in less then 5 minute driving distance. Also this location is convenient for traveling to east, south, and north Pelion. In general, the hotel is pretty, has a beautiful yard with crops, and has a pastoral view. It felt authentic, the attitude was super welcoming, and the whole property was pretty and green. I really recommend this hotel if you don't care about driving few minutes for good close beaches.
1. The wifi was not stable and some times was weak. It should be improved. We had a Greek sim card with unlimited internet so it wasn't a big problem for us. So how big it will be a problem for you depends on whether you have a card or not. 2. The closet was not located in a convenient way. Infront of its doors there was an armchair. We needed to move the armchair in order to use the closet and it was very inefficient and not very comfortable. 3. The shower was a bit small, but for me and my partner it was more than okay. If you are a bit bigger or wider than the average, it might be a bit of an issue for you.

Verified reviewThe hotel in Kala Nera is in excellent place, close to all places in Pillion. The owner was very attentive and gave us whatever we asked for and more. i.e. - he saw that we used blankets to put under the pillows, so next day he gave us 2 pillows each. The room was very clean. Breakfast was full, with eggs, fresh vegetables, Greek yogurt, fresh fruits, cereal, cakes etc.
There were mosquitoes outside, so we could not use the balcony or the yard, but they did not enter the room. The air condition stop working when you open the balcony door, so you can not have a breath of fresh air and cool the room at the same time.
