Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNikolas was a wonderful host. We were met at the port and given a complimentary transfer to the hotel. The breakfasts were a feast for a small cost. A fruit platter, eggs, juice, coffee, yoghurt, bread, jam, savoury pie and biscuits. The location is so close to the waterfront. We really enjoyed our conversations with Nikolas about life in Symi. Thank you so much.

Quirky traditional building in a great location. Considering where it is it was very quiet. Nikolas was amazingly helpful when we left a mobile phone on the beach at Marathunda and a wonderful host all round who couldn't do enough for us. Would heartily recommend staying here.

Nikolas the owner was so friendly and welcoming and ensured that our stay was comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this little hotel if we visit Symi again

United StatesThere's no shade on the balcony, so it isn't appropriate for mid-day, should that be your wish. Most people will be out, so not an issue.
Immaculate housekeeping, professional yet warm hospitality, comfortable bed and bedding, good silent a.c., free laundry service! I can recommend the Albatros without reservation. Nicolas is a charming, sophisticated, and attentive host who looks after his guests personally. Breakfast is simple but satisfying and graciously served. The hotel is conveniently located but somehow quiet inside. I slept well and had a peaceful week's stay.

United KingdomMoving on.
IF this is your 1st visit to the island, Nikolas the host, greets you with a very informative table top tour of the highlights of Symi with the aid of a map. The hotel now in the hands of the founders son, is in traditional style with much use of wood in construction and many family artifacts about the place The breakfast was hearty, in the Greek style. Egg, mini spinach pies, toast & jams. Lots of fruit. Fruit juice. Tea & coffee. Yoghurt. Nikolas is fluent in Greek English, French, and capable in Italian. Located in a quiet side street 30m from the front.

Small hotel with perfect location in the center of Symi town and near the port. The hotel is runned by the superhost Nicolas and his lovely wife. The room was cozy and clean with comfortable beds and a small balcony. Delicious breakfast! Nicolas is very friendly and social. He told us a lot, about the history of Symi and about the people on the island. He gave us valuable information and tips about restaurants etc. and helped us with our heavy luggage. If Albatros is available when you visit Symi, don't hesitate, book!

United KingdomWe’re loath to criticise anything, but one tiny thing was the temperature and pressure of the shower could be better. We really weren’t bothered about this, though.
Albatros is a great place to stay in Symi. It’s just a few (flat) steps from the harbour front, so you’re near to everything. Rooms are fine and the air conditioning is effective. Breakfast is simple but substantial (that’ll save you some money) and included breads, good fruit, yoghurt, eggs, cheese or spinach pie and more. The host, Nicolas, was friendly, sociable and super well-informed about stuff. He’s also multi-lingual. And helpful. Like collection to and from the port.

IrelandBeautiful small hotel. Spotless clean, comfy bed, fabulous breakfast. Great value for money. Only 1 min walk from the port ,where all the day trips & taxi boats are. Perfect location for all shops, tavernas & local buses. Nicolas is a wonderful host, full of information & advice on where to go & what to do. He's so friendly and chats with everyone. You feel like you've known him all your life. He will meet you at the port & bring you back. We will definitely return again. If you want a relaxing stay in a typical Greek hotel, don't hesitate to book Albatros.

The room was spotless and cosy. Comfortable bed and very quiet. Had a cute balcony overlooking the narrow street. Nikos was the most friendly, helpful and hospitable person you could ever meet. He met us off the ferry and showed us where to explore in the little time we had on the island. Breakfast was lovely, fruit, yoghurt , bread and other goods from the bakery, bought fresh that morning. We would love to come back and spend more time on this special island with these wonderful people.

United KingdomNo complaints at all!
The Albatros is up a narrow side street just off the main street running round the bay so a very central location. It only has 4 rooms I think, so the only staff we met was the owner who couldn't have been more helpful. He met us off the ferry and took us to the hotel. Once settled in, he explained what there was to see locally and where the bus to Pedi Beach ran from and suggested a good restaurant for us to eat at just off the main square. His breakfast was 5 star - lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt, savoury and sweet pastries, eggs and cheese and excellent coffee.
