How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A bit dated from the inside. So if you are looking for luxury appartment, skip this one.

Verified reviewWe stayed for 4 nights in beginning of June. The apartment is located just a few minutes of walking from the beautiful Barbati beach. We enjoyed the see view and orange and lemon trees which surrounded the property. All the restaurants (for breakfast, dinner or just an ice cream) are located extremely close as well. The owner scheduled the transfers for us from the airport to the apartment and also from the apartment to Kassiopi - our next destination. He also allowed us to stay in the apartment for a couple of extra hours to accommodate with our schedule. Overall very good experience!!!

Verified reviewThe location is amazing, very close to all the shops, restaurants, the bus stop etc. The view from the balcony is great. The staff were very friendly. The apartment itself is kind of old but also great value for the money and very cozy - you can have breakfast or a drink on the balcony with a beautiful view. The beach is literally a couple of minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay! :)
There were a couple of rainy days and there was no hot water in the apartment 🥲 So be mindful of that - maybe contact the staff asap which we didn’t do. Also, it wasn’t obvious that the access to our balcony was not limited and virtually anyone could come in if the balcony door was opened. So IDK - if you’re not afraid to sleep at night with doors opened, then you’re fine.

Finally, in regards to the window, it's highly unlikely that anyone would come into the house since this is a private property to which only our guests have access, however, it's the same risk as with every house where the windows are left open thus, we suggest that during the night the windows for safety reasons are kept closed. Verified reviewAffordable price, location, big beds, two AC units. The kitchen was well equiped with everything possible. Cold water in the fridge was waiting.
The house gets very hot the minute you turn off the AC. It was impossible to sleep without it.

We wished we had booked two weeks! The internet was slow, but we should not have been working during the week anyway! I have a feeling this is being upgraded in the coming weeks.

Verified reviewIt was wonderful stay in Alex-Giannis! The best host ever - Maria will help you in all your questions, also you will be glad to visit her shop near the apartment, highly recommend you. The location is just in 2 min to the amazing beach Barbati and one of the coolest beach bar on Corfu. The sea view from balcony is spectacular, you can enjoy coffee with croissants there in the morning and watch the beautiful sunsets in the evening. Best value for money I ever had on Booking! Come and enjoy!

Verified reviewMaria is friendly, open and available for their guests. A perfect host! We travelled with two kids and in the evening we sneaked out to the balcony and enjoyed the beautiful view without worrying that we won't hear the children if they woke up. The apartment is very close to the beach.

The apartment was simple, clean, and offered everything one would need for a relaxing Greek island holiday. The location of the property is great for exploring the island or enjoying the great beach just a two-minute walk away. The view from the balcony was phenomenal -- I'll never forget watching the moonlight glimmering on the shore. I hope to be able to come back and stay at Alex-Giannis again. Thank you!

Verified reviewGreat location, only 3 mins walking distance from a beautiful beach! The kitchen is well equipped and there’s a big table at the balcony where we used to have our meals. There’s cleaning service every day.
Dripping taps, doors don’t close well, and in general furniture and facilities could be improved. Sometimes there was noise from the nearby street late at night.
