We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwedenWe wish we had read the reviews here on Booking before booking, unfortunately, we relied on Tripadvisor, where the tone is noticeably more positive. We travel frequently in Greece and know the Cycladic islands well. We’ve stayed in two different places on Folegandros before and genuinely love Chora and the island overall. This was our first time staying in Ano Meria, and we found it to be the complete opposite of Chora, in all the wrong ways. This property is located in Ano Meria, a village not far from Chora, and while it had some positives, our overall experience was disappointing. The house was clean on arrival, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, and the Wi-Fi worked without issue throughout our stay. However, several things made us feel uncomfortable. First and most importantly: the house is not private. When we booked, we assumed the outdoor space was for our use — but it actually belongs to the owners, who live right next door and used it regularly. We could hear them often, which really affected our ability to relax. It also became clear that the owners clean the house themselves rather than hiring a professional service. This led to some awkward and frankly strange situations. For example, my personal toothbrush was placed in an old mug belonging to the owners without my consent. On another occasion, the person cleaning left a pair of used cleaning gloves on top of food we had bought and left in the kitchen. We found this extremely unhygienic and careless. We didn’t mention it to the owners because their overall behavior already felt strange, and we didn’t want to cause unnecessary tension during our stay. They also asked us to leave the house several times so they could come in and clean, which felt quite different from how a hotel would handle things — where cleaning is planned around the guest’s comfort and not the other way around.

AustraliaThe hosts were not very friendly. They said they did not know about the bus cancellation, but it became clear they did know, but didn't want to convey that info. Any questions we had in general were met with an abrasive, short response. Then, they became passively aggressive when we pointed out a nest of ants under the cushions on the daybed. She kept on and on and on saying we ate on the daybed, then she said it was our shoes, then she said it was biscuit crumbs, then it was because we ate outside and left the door open. All we asked was for some bug spray to prevent the spread. Although she came and swept the ants, we were made to feel totally responsible for something we did not do. We didn't eat inside the unit, we didn't put our shoes on the daybed, in fact we didn't use the daybed at all, and it was only by accident that I moved the cushion and saw the ants. Following this incident it became very uncomfortable, it felt like we were being watched. Being a windy day, the access door accidently slammed as I was going in. She went off saying "Don't slam the door" and proceeded to tell me how to operate the door and to hold the handle. We've never been made to feel so uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to leave the unit so although our check out time was later, we left the unit at 8am and waited for 2.5hrs for our taxi at the coffee shop next door. Will definitely not recommend this host. It's a pity as the unit is lovely! If we had known about their attitude, we would have booked elsewhere!! On Booking.com states free shuttle service from the Port. No such thing!
The accommodation was comfortable. I like the decor and it was beautifully renovated
