How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Not good value for money. Way too expensive for what we got! The location and views were spectacular but the whole suite and hotel was 3 star but charging 5 star prices!

Verified reviewThe staff were very friendly, especially Joe! The pool was nice and the room was absolutely perfect for a family of five with three small children (8, 5 and 2). The mezzanine structure of the room worked very well. We were only at the property for two nights ahead of moving to Peligoni and it was the perfect extension of our trip.
Nothing.

Verified reviewThis was an absolutely amazing experience. The location, although remote, is fabulous. The sea is turquoise, secluded beach, rugged and beautiful scenery. The service is superb. So welcoming, assistance with all questions. Very attentive and personal. This place is so warm. In my 12 years with booking, this is my second review. And I decided to leave it because this trip was outstanding, thanks to Aliv Suitss. Thank you, guys ❤️

Verified reviewSimply the Best on the Island! If someone asked me what the best part of the island was, I would have to say it was staying at this hotel. It was an absolutely unique and unforgettable experience for us. We were incredibly lucky to have the most stunning beach and sea right here at the hotel. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and all had a magnificent sea view. The design and architecture of the hotel were very stylish and modern. Most importantly, the owners and staff made us feel like we were staying at a friend's home. Every single person was so hospitable, helpful, and kind. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone, especially Joe, Lena, Ria, Teo, Melina, Costa, and Pitt, for making our vacation exceptional. We also want to give a big shout-out to the Housekeeping team for keeping our room spotless every single day. A lovely bonus was that the hotel is pet-friendly, and we were greeted by two wonderful dogs, Balu and Ofia, in the lobby every day. They were the owners' dogs and were so adorable—we already miss them! The hotel breakfast was great, especially the cheese pie, which was absolutely delicious! If we ever return to this island, it would be just to see the amazing staff again and to swim in the sea we fell in love with. Until we meet again. We send you all our love from Italy!
The only minor point was that the restaurant food could have been better. For a hotel of this class and luxury, the taste of the dishes was a bit lacking. We hope they improve this in the future so it can truly be a perfect hotel.

Verified reviewThis is a very beautiful hotel at a dream location. The view over the sea is just spectacular. The hosts and the whole team were always very friendly, kind and helpful. Thank you very much!
At the beach, we would have loved the sound of the sea and the cicadas from time to time - instead of the music, but this is a matter of taste ;-)

Verified reviewRooms and facilities were very nice, the location is great - beautiful water and views.
The staff were incredibly rude to my mother as she was trying to manoeuvre her car into the relatively tight parking bay, around the Hotel’s golf cart which was parked in the way of the car park entrance. She ended up very gently hitting a low lying bumper on the corner of a planter box (going a very slow speed so that minimal damage was done to the planter box and no damage to her rental car). However, two of the staff yelled at her, accused her of being a drunk driver (which she absolutely was not), then proceeded to demand that they watch the incident on CCTV and that she “own up” - when it was clear what had happened and that minimal damage if any was done to the hotel. We clarified if they wanted us to pay for any damage done to the hotel as we would have been happy to, and that was not their issue. The tone of the staff and their family members was extremely accusatory and rude. They also started pointing to damage that was pre-existing on the back of the rental car and claiming that the damage had been caused by my mum’s wheel hitting the planter box (when there is no way this impact could have caused damage to the back bumper). We were willing to put this incident behind us, but when we dropped the car back to the rental company at the airport, the hotel had emailed the rental car company and taken photos of the “damage” to the rental car (which hadn’t been caused by my mum) and had told the rental company that my mum was drunk driving their vehicle (which was also wrong and completely defamatory). We were appalled at this behaviour (which was a clear retaliation / escalation ) from the staff of the hotel. We would expect much better from anyone in a service industry but particularly at a small high end family run hotel. Additionally the main pool was out of order for 5 of the 7 days that we were staying at the hotel in mid August (with temperatures around 35 C each day).
Dear Anna, thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We are very sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the hotel and for any inconvenience caused by the staff. You could stay focused on the positive too but you preferred not to mention any of it. Kindest Regards, Aliv Suites

Verified reviewWe were mesmerized by the infinity pool and the optical illusion of crossing into the sea. The breakfasts were excellent - local cheeses, fruit. Yum.
Why have a stove when I don't have a pot, I don't have a wooden spoon, I don't have a fork or a knife and I don't have a plate to eat it on. For real. I would only expect that if there is a kitchen in the apartment - whether small or not, that such basic things as cutlery would be there. The access to the sea from the hotel is not suitable for small children, you go straight from the jetty into the sea. Or from rocky parts. Overall, I would recommend the accommodation for a wonderful experience. What I regret is - how expensive their additional services are. Airport pickup for €120, three-hour cruise for two people €300, two-kilometer pickup €30. You can eat in the hotel restaurant for twice the price and unfortunately they don't have a very large selection of local cuisine, for example they don't offer gyros. But they have a burger and pizza 🫣.. When leaving early, we requested a breakfast package for departure the day before. We got breakfast for 3 people which didn't fill even one. It was kinda sad.
Dear Kristyna, thank you for taking the time to leave your positive feedback. We do not place kettles and plates in the rooms if the guest does not want them. The guests ask for and the reception organizes everything to be clean and safe for use. The hotel provides specific services and shuttle services, are very well-organized. Verified reviewNice location, private beach / bay beautiful. Rooms were spacious
Family run business so not very professional. Pool was out of order our entire stay in 35 degrees heat, we had young babies so too dangerous for them to swim in sea as there is no safe entry. Took them 7 days to get professional in to fix the pool so we never got to use it during our stay. Which was disappointment for our family holiday to Greece with young toddler in that heat! Some staff were nice but others were rude & argumentative .. in general did not offer up solutions to problems (we had to really push them). Way too pricey for the level of professionalism and facility - terrible value for money
Dear Vicki, we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in Aliv. We have to remind you that you have had access every day to a signature suite with a private pool to swim with your babies for free. Kindest Regards, Aliv Suites

Verified reviewIt is a boutique hotel with upscaled guests. The view is absolutely amazing and breakfast is good. The sea deck is nice as you can jump into deep water and enjoy the crystal clear water with many fish.
It runs by a family which lacks customer service - we had severe ants issue in the child's bed, and their initial response was if we could handle it ourselves until the cleaning lady will come in the morning. The hotel lacks maintainence - pool shower doesn't work and no one at the bar, the room wall hung toilet was placed on a wooden brick, the soap holder was broken and rusty, balcony had a non-fuctional giant jacuzzi (not part of the advertised room facilities, but take much space and view). Breakfast is served in a balcony with no air conditioning except few small fans. The road to the hotel is not paved, and very steep. The prices for the services in the hotel are very high (Hamburger costs 32 euro???).
Dear Kfir, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I remember the incident with the ants on the bed because your kids were eating snacks on the sheets. The housekeepers changed the sheets and cleaned up the bed in the evening when you called us. We are very sorry though, you did not enjoy your stay at the hotel. Kindest Regards, Aliv Suites

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is objectively beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean, with a gorgeous view of the sea.
The location is pretty isolated, and the dirt road is extremely steep and unpaved, with no lighting at all, making every ride extremely dangerous and stressful. The breakfast room is basically nonexistent, guests have breakfast in a hot terrace, and no internal, air conditioned room is provided as an alternative for guests who don’t like to be bathed in sweat when eating. The staff seemed nice and hardworking, while the owners showed an unprofessional attitude towards both the guests and the staff. The access to the beach is steep and unpractical, the inclination makes it really hard for people to get to the beach, and there is no stairs or whatsoever. Finally, the pool bar had no staff, and seemed quite abandoned and dusty. For the high value of money that we paid, the service was absolutely not worth it.
Dear Roberto, thank you for your feedback. We take into consideration all your remarks and we will try to improve our services. Kindest Regards, Aliv Suites

Verified reviewAmazing owner team with a very hard-working staff. Great food and PLENTY of it! A stunning exclusive beach club with the best frozen margaritas. What's not to like!
Room description was slightly wrong in the Booking.com website so we were initially not happy with a room without a pool (the description did say a stunning pool with a view but turned out these were different units and not the one we had booked). Nevertheless, our room was fabulous and the rest of the stay made totally up for the initial confusion!

Verified reviewThe beach was great, the water was clean and had a beautiful color. The possibility to have a private boat tour to blue caves and shipwreck. The personnel was very friendly (room cleaning (specially the boy), beach and bar) and the rooms were extremely big with beautiful view.
The breakfast room was not closed and air conditioned. The water of the swimming pool was not that clear and no personnel at the swimming pool bar. The coffee in the morning from the machine not so good. Not possibility to have fresh fish at restaurant.Too much wasps in the morning. First days a strong smell in the toilet.
Dear Sergio, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The restaurant is open and the breakfast is served in an open area because while staying in Greece, it is perfect to be outside enjoying the fresh air and nature. Kindest Regards, Lena

Verified reviewThe setting was nice but getting there was horrible as you are required to drive down a steep curvy unsealed Road which is really more suitable for four-wheel drives. The view was excellent and so was the swimming in the sea which is accessed via the resort.
Access to the property is difficult with an every day European Sedan, the staff were very helpful but they looked to be a bit understaffed and highly stressed, the staff really lacked professionalism, the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor requiring towels all the time and there seemed to be an issue with The sewage drainage which presented an odour into the bathroom and main-bedroom, considering the cost of this accommodation the bathrooms are very tight and lacking space, the main restaurant couldn’t provide our freddo coffee as the coffee machine was broken. This place was not cheap and considering the accommodation and the Service it did leave us disappointed.
Dear Angela, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The road to the hotel does not have asphalt because it is a country road, it has concreet though which is more appropriate for the high temperatures and the rainy winters. As for the shower, you should have to inform the reception that you have got a problem of leaking and bad smelling. If you did not complain for anything during your stay, how we suppose to know the problems you have faced and help you? Kindest Regards, Lena
