How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewPetros and Alexandros were very friendly and helpful every time you had questions. We felt very welcomed :) The garden was lovely for breakfast and evenings.
If you have two large suitcases with you, the space in the room is very limited. The simple double room upstairs is very small and not recommended for a longer stay for our taste. The mattresses were not very comfortable (too hard for my liking) and the extremely small fridge in the room next to the bed made noises all night that were disturbing and did not make sleeping very pleasant. In our opinion, breakfast is overrated. It was always fresh but only two dishes were diverse every few days (one of them was the cake - but to be honest: who is eating sweet cake for breakfast?!). You can't imagine a buffet like in a hotel where you have a lot of choice. Apart from the delicios cakes, which were freshly baked by the host every day, everything was repeated daily. What annoyed us a little was that you couldn't have breakfast before 9am, so we didn't get to the beach until mid-morning. You have to wash your beach towels in the sink and hang them up outside in the garden as you don't have a balcony. It is better not to use the washing machine (very dirty and at least 15 years old).

While it is new and of good quality (orthopedic with independent springs), we apologize if it didn’t meet your expectations. We’ve replaced both the washing machine and washer-dryer with brand-new, high-end technology units to provide a faster and more efficient experience for our guests. We continually strive to create a welcoming atmosphere, and we regret that some aspects of your stay fell short. Regarding breakfast, we aim to offer fresh options daily, and we appreciate your input on variety and timing. We’ll certainly consider your suggestions as we work to enhance our offerings. Verified reviewHotel is an old, beautiful, authentic house which and a great garden. There are plenty of restaurants near by. Neos Marmaras town center is in 20 min walking range. Hosts were very friendly. Aleksandros was very attentive even before we arrive in the hotel, anything you need he is there to solve and arrange . Petros is a great man he always come with perfect suggestions about where to go what to see where to eat. All the staff were nice and polite. The breakfast was very sufficient Petros was baking cakes and desserts in daily basis. We are very satisfied and definitely be back soon!

Verified reviewJust wonderful! This place exceeded our expectations. It was more then just a stay, it was a whole experience. This family runs the business with all their heart and you can feel that. I would come back over and over to this location. You have all the facilities you need. Even sailing and other activities if you want can be arranged. Breakfast is amazing with homemade goods from their own garden. Rooms are clean. Service is excelent. The garden there, this smell of pines and flowers is great. They think also about small details, so that your stay there is just perfect.

Verified reviewAlterra Vita was the best choice we could make for our holiday this year. The atmosphere was very nice. We had a feeling that we were visiting friends. The house is so beautiful with many thoughtful details. We very much enjoyed delicious breakfast in the garden. The beach is just two minutes away. The hosts made us (including a little dog) feel very welcome.

Verified reviewVery "homey" atmosphere with our host being all the time around ready to help. The house was intelligently transformed into a touristic venue paying close attention to all details. A fantastic garden having a big pine tree in the middle. The breakfast was well-above the average breakfasts you can find in similar Greek hotels. Congrats to Petros, Kelly "The Boss" and all other ladies part of the staff for the excellent work.
1. Trying to have a shower from 19.30 until 21.30 could be a challenge (not the fault of the owners). The water pression is dropping (close to zero) during this timeframe because of, most probably, problems of the water distribution system in the area. 2. The price I paid was a bit to high even for such a nice accommodation.

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay at Alterra Vita B&B. the property is gorgeous with a beautiful garden area to enjoy breakfast at and a patio which we had all to ourselves where we spent our evenings. Maria, Kosta and Petros went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. As I’m allergic to dairy products they arranged special dishes and vegan options for me for breakfast. The area of the B&B is nice, close to really good restaurants/taverns and pretty much next to Paradeisos Beach which offers beautiful sunset view. We recommend a car to discover other beaches though as Paradeisos is just OK (in our opinion) - but there are plenty organized and wild beaches within reasonable distance. we definitely recommend the hotel!
Compared to other places in the area it’s a bit on the pricy side.
