How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOur stay was more than pleasant! Hosts are polite, amazing family. Staying at Alykes Volos makes you feel like home. The place is supplied with everything which you may need to spend great time with your beloved ones. Beach is only 5 minutes walking distance, also in the area you may find good restaurants, supermarkets and farmacy. Lots of free parking spots. We'll be back again for sure. 😊

Verified reviewWe had a great stay! The place was very easy to find, the location is very close to the beach and a nice restaurant. At the same time, it's secluded and calm. Lot's of space to park. The hosts are super nice and ready to help. The appartment has all the amenities, maybe a washing machine will be useful for longer stays.
Thank you for your stay in our apartment and for your good review. We have washing machine at the small warehouse on back yard, but we forgot to saw you.

Verified reviewNewly built house, were satisfied on everything in there. Just same as pictures. Spacious , clean , nice bedroom with dress room. Full equipped kitchen ( literally everything were there, coffee / tea bags / even 🍞 spread) specially when you do the dishes you'd see greens throughout the window. Landlord live upstairs, friendly family love their property. I could feel how much they care about people, their guests. We had potatoes and onions ( from their own yard) as welcome gifts.😍 Oh, there's a lovely dog welcoming us days and nights, He had his own discretion ♡♡ never came in door even if we asked to. And Beach walk was nice too. It was very good for me to take a full rest in house and hang out beach rest of the times. Families, couples any parties would be fine to spend a quality vacation.

Verified reviewThe apartment is just perfect in every aspect. Its location is very good because it's in a quiet surroundings and at the same time Volos centre, or the motoway is easy to reach. The beach is nice and clean. The house is very comfortable and well equipped, beds are comfortable. Everything is nice and new and very clean. Absolutely good value for your money. Above all is the family who live there. Dimitra and her family are wonderful people kind, friendly.and helpful. We arrived very late because of the long way and the borders, but they received us very kindly. They themselves are the Greek hospitality, thank you for everything❤

Verified reviewThe apartment is located on the ground floor of the house, where the owners live upstairs. Guests have at their disposal a large bedroom with a wardrobe room - plenty space for your own stuff and an open kitchen with a dining room. The apartment has TV, A/C, Wi-fi. The kitchen is large and very well equipped with a stove, oven, fridge, kettle and plenty of other necessary cooking equipment. Bed is big and comfortable. A large terrace with a table, a washing machine and an additional shower in the garden. The owners are wonderful people, very helpful. The apartment is in a quiet street but very close to taverns, shops and the beach. We have very sqeet memories of our 10-day stay and the apartment is perfect for a longer stay. Really recommended. Volos is close by as well as Pelion. Local bus which will take you to Volos is few steps away or just by car you will reach to Volos in few minutes.

Appartment was fantastic - spacious, luminous, very well equipped kitchen, air-conditioning, great terrace with large table overlooking the garden and mountains in the background, large garden with outdoor shower, washing machine and dryer. The flat is located a few steps from the excellent beach and promenade with shops and restaurants, on the beach great water playground for children, easy access by bus to the city of Volos (stop next to the flat). But the best of all were really Wonderful Hosts - Xristos and Dimitra, who helped us with everything, looked after our well-being, advised us on our every question - thank you so much!!! We would recommend a stay at Alykes Volos to anyone!
