Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe only thing i can critic is the fact that there is no parking lot or designated area for parking. There is a private parking lot about 500m away at the cost of about 50€ a day.
Loved this gem of a hotel. Right across the street from the National Gardens, this hotel is central, clean and welcoming.

United StatesThe location was great, walking distance to the Parthenon. Beautiful views of the Parthenon at night (lit up) from the restaurant on the 7th floor. The food was excellent. Dining in the later evening while the Parthenon is illuminated is a must.

Israelthe furniture is a bit outdated and unsafe for children, lots of ruff corners. The hotel was kind enough to provide a cradle but unfortunately i didn’t use it since it had metal bars and curious 1 year old bumped his head while playing. I had one unpleasant incident with one of the staff where he saw my wife putting food in the plastic compartment that i brought for my baby and decided that she was taking food from the hotel to eat later. That made her a bit upset but misunderstandings can happen and i’m not mad. I would like to thank all the staff for being nice to us.
The hotel is good and in good location you can walk to the acropolis from it. It was clean, they furniture is food was good, i usually prefer to take breakfast in the city to enjoy a more authentic experience but since im traveling with my baby i opted for the hotel’s breakfast.

BrazilWe were there at the peek of summer. A/C in the rooms could be more efficient. Even in maximum cold it was hotter than what we would like to have. Breakfast OK, not great, but fair.
The staff is very kind. Lactation excellent. We arrived early and an early check-in was offered. We also asked for a late check-out and got it, this time with a cost, which is fair.

EgyptI stayed at Amalia Hotel Athens, and once again, it exceeded my expectations. This was my 7th stay since 2012, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The location is absolutely perfect right in Syntagma Square, within walking distance of Plaka, the Acropolis, and countless restaurants and shops. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Breakfast is always a highlight, with a wide variety of fresh, delicious options and a beautiful view that makes mornings even more enjoyable. However, I’ve noticed that the breakfast menu has remained the same since my first visit in 2012. While the quality is still excellent, I would recommend that management consider refreshing the menu to offer guests a bit more variety. The staff are consistently warm, professional, and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcome every time. Amalia Hotel is more than just a place to stay for me it’s my trusted base in Athens, and I look forward to returning again and again. Highly recommended!

SpainOverpriced for what it is. It has two elevators, so there were queues and very long waiting times to go up or down (we were traveling with a baby and a stroller). Breakfast was fine, but the same every day. The gym is nonexistent. Calling that room a gym is an exaggeration. For my husband, it was very important to have a gym, and that’s why we chose this hotel. In reality, it’s a tiny room with just one machine, and that’s it.
A very clean hotel, in an unbeatable location. Super clean. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant waiters were impressive—very kind and well-mannered. Good breakfast.

The location was very conscientious, it was close to the metro and many attractions. It was a very short walk to old town as well. We stayed as a family on vacation, the staff were kind and helpful, the room was big and soundproof, the AC was very nice, the WiFi was fast and the breakfast was delicious! They also store luggage which is nice.
