Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

We had an exceptional stay at Amaryllis Maison. The location is great. The staff was really friendly and very willing to respond promptly to everything we needed.

The construction site right across the street start making noise very early in the morning and it is hard to sleep after 7.00 am so it is the only downside

Just an issue , wifi is not working. It wasnt big deal for us because we managed to use mobile service internet. But most Turkish tourists cant use it because its very expensive to buy internet packages from gsm service. So wifi needs to be settled.
Location is great , its in the middle of the town. Very clean and housekeeper offer coffee which is very kind.

The sofa was not comfortable. Its kinda hard to sleep on it.
It was clean. Everything was new. It has a good location. The bed was comfortable.

TV had only netflix and youtube. Some greek cable channels would be fun to watch.
Perfect location. Host was very helpful. Easy to reach and communicate. Even left a water and wine in the mini fridge. 10/10 Room is close the everywhere. Markets, restaurants, bars, pasteries close by.

In the morning, the area is very busy and noisy because of the hustle and bustle and its central location but after noon everything calms down by a lot. Nothing out of the ordinary just felt it should be mentioned
We came for a day, after staying in Samothrace for a week, to rest before we depart for Athens the next day. I think we should have made a reservation for more days in Alexandroupoli cause the city is absolutely fantastic. The room was in top-notch condition, nothing was missing and we had a relaxed night. Netflix and Nespresso as well as the complimentary wine in the fridge added a nice extra touch.

Now, the bad: - It is almost impossible to park in this area. When we arrived we circled the streets for around 20 minutes before finding a place to stop. The streets are also very narrow so it is difficult to drive and our car got scratched by someone while it was parked. - The property is at ground level meaning that you will hear every street sound right next to your window and you need to keep the blinds and/or curtains closed at all times if you don't want strangers looking in. That combined with the lights in the apartment being dim makes the room quite dark. - The only beach which is walking distance from the property, Alexandroupoli New Beach, is very small and unpleasant. Realistically you will not want to go there, so you will need to go to any good beach by car. - On our last morning, one of the tempered glass panels of the shower cabin shattered by itself and covered the entire bathroom in glass. The owners of course did not believe this and blamed us for breaking it, which is understandable but I still did not appreciate being brushed off, blamed and made to pay for something I didn't do.
We stayed at this property for 2 nights. First, the good: - The key handoff was smooth and easy, you get it from a lockbox. - The apartment is brand new, clean, aesthetically pleasing and well-designed with everything you need inside. The bed is big and comfortable, the kitchen area has everything you need to cook should you choose to, the bathroom is clean and spacious. There are multiple appliances provided such as an AC, a TV with Netflix, a washing machine, a hair dryer, and a clothing iron. - The location is a very short walk from the best street in the city where the lighthouse is. All local shops, cafes and restaurants are nearby.

It was in the city center. You can walk everywhere in the city easily. The apartment was modern, clean and nice. Mr Thamson was so helpful. If we go one more time, we prefer this place.
