How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff was very nice, friendly and professional. They always helped us, gave us great advice. The breakfast had a great variety of food and of high quality. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a balcony to chill out at night. The beach was at 5 min walk, simply perfect!
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your positive feedback and we are looking forward to accommodating you again

Verified reviewThe location is great, just between the old town center and the beautiful city beach. The room is spacious and very interesting - there's an actual rock in the room, and the kids loved it. The view from the breakfast terrace is amazing - the fortress on one side, sea on the other. The hotel is very clean and quiet.
Breakfast, although tasty, was very limited in the amount of food - we arrived quite early, and refills did not happen. It was also limited in terms of selection - more variety would be good, especially for long stays. Please add feta cheese and watermelon. The bathroom needs a renovation, it is usable but dated. The lighting in the room was very weak.
Dear guest Thank you for your visit and your time to write a review for us. We are glad to read you enjoyed your stay and you assessed positively the rooms, the cleanliness and the view. Regarding your comments on the breakfast, we have to highlight the fact that we are a small complex of 7 rooms, not a large chain of hotels which means that breakfast is made upon the number of guests we have and of course the size of the breakfast room. Every guest has the right to ask for things like feta cheese or watermelon, but we should always bear in mind if the price he pays for the room covers such demands. Thank you for your time.

Verified reviewThe hotel is high on the hill of the steep part of the old town. While there are lots of steps, the views are lovely. Our room was very comfortable with 1 bed in an alcove. The decor is modern and pleasant. The generous breakfast on the upper verandah was lovely with a view up to the castle and down to the bay. The staff were very helpful.
Dear Deborah Thank you for the review we hope you enjoyed your birthday here and we wish to see you again Best regards Amfitriti Palazzo team

Verified reviewStunning and romantic location, we really loved it
For as one people the path to the house can be challenging, parking is free in the town but the house is not directly accessible by car. But you get to know it before the stay and they provide a perfect description of the arrival.

Verified reviewSome rooms offer balcony overlooking the old town, really great views. Close walk (via stairs) to the centre with shops, restaurants and port area. Quiet area. Great breakfast which can be enjoyed on their terrace overlooking the town. Regret not staying longer. Nafplio is in gem.
Hotel provided good guide how to get the Hotel. There is a public car park just above the Hotel . However, to get to the Hotel its via a cobbled street/path with some small stairs in between, which may be troublesome to walk with bigger luggage.
Dear Stefan Thank you for your time to write a review for us We are happy to read that you enjoyed our homemade breakfast that our staff prepares fresh every day, the view and the rooms we have. As for the cobbled street you mention there are a lot of reviews commenting on this that you could have read in advance. On top of that, we always inform guests beforehand about access in case of mobility issues and heavy luggage, so that we avoid such complaints here. Thank you once again for your visit Sincerely Amfitriti Palazzo team

Verified reviewWe had a very comfortable stay with a free upgrade to our room. Great shower and bathroom, comfortable beds (which we found to be a rarity in Greece!) and excellent breakfast. Central location.
Although the hotel is centrally located, it was difficult to find - google maps just added to our confusion - finding parking was also hard. Better suited for someone without a car and little baggage to haul.
Dear Janet You had been informed a lot beforehand, as we do with every guest, about the location and the access, so really unreasonable to complain. Also view and low level in town without steps are two incompatible ideas, so someone sacrifices one. As for the price - quality level, you evaluated us with 5/10 while we upgraded your room FOR FREE and the price was low this time of year. Next time you visit Nafplio think twice where you stay.

Verified reviewlocation was good. you can walk down to the center. very welcoming hotel staffs.
very basic breakfast. hotel was built on the hill so lots of stairs and the room was embracing some rocks on the hills so in a way creative but in a way uncomfortable.
Dear Boyoung Our breakfast is a rich Greek breakfast, which suits Greek small hotels like hours. If you wanted to have mushroom soup in your breakfast, you should have booked in big chain of hotels paying relatively of course. As for the steps, you knew in advance, since we had sent you message and directions so you didn't have any hesitation to come. How can you say it's perfect location and on the other hand uncomfortable??? Really weird and contradictory.

Verified reviewBreakfast was utterly delicious, included home-made products. The view over the town and beyond was wonderful (balcony)-the climb up is not for the faint-hearted-, the room big and spacious. The host was marvellous and friendly. The hotel has been newly refurbished in a beautiful way.
We liked everything, but perhaps a tea kettle and tea bags/coffee in the room would be a good addition.
Dear Maureen Carroll, thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay! It was a pleasure hosting you. We wish to see you again. Best regards, Amfitriti Palazzo Staff.

Verified reviewAbsolutely stunning views over the old town of Nafplio, across the water to Argos and the mountains beyond; handsome Ottoman period house converted in a beautiful way, with breakfast room and terrace at the top. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade preserves, and a great selection of cold and warm things to eat. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly.
As is clear from the hotel information, and in communications after booking, access to the hotel from the old town via a long flight of steps - this wasn't really a negative for me, as the views were so great, but just be aware!
Dear Jane, thank you for your review. It was a poleasure hosting you! Best regards, Amfitriti Palazzo staff

Verified reviewBeautiful character filled property, close to public parking at the top of the old town. We had a spacious room with balcony. Exceptionally friendly and helpful employees. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We found the mattresses to be quite hard. It was a challenge hauling all of our luggage in the dark - but we used torches on our phones.

Verified reviewIt is an extraordinary place. Magical. With a spectacular view day and night.
Google maps will not take you there! We were provided a video but it was not helpful. We needed to contact the hotel and were led to the hotel. A simple line drawing map from the main road to the parking lot and then to the hotel would been helpful.

Verified reviewAlthough they are pet friendly. It was the only property in our holiday that did not accept pets in the breakfast area. So we had to skip breakfast
Dear Andreas, The hotel is pet friendly indeed, which means that we can accommodate pets in specific rooms, which we do indeed with pleasure. On the other hand, Greek law is not clear upon pets being welcome in common areas where guests are seated for food. So, as your dog is not accepted in many restaurants all over Greece, we couldn't as well accept complaints from other guests from possible pet hair on food in breakfast. We hope we are clear. You missed our breakfast though! Never mind!
