Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryDirty and smelly surroundings (but that's true for most of Athens). Located at a noisy intersection. No wardrobe to put clothes in.
Good position to see the sights with public transport (near metro). Acropolis view from some rooms on higher floors and rooftop. Reasonably priced restaurants nearby.

LatviaThe breakfast, which was included by default, was probably the most disappointing that we have seen in any 3 (or even 2) star hotel in Greece.
The facilities well matched the star rating, and, location-wise, the hotel is just a short walk from the nearest metro station. Also, without wandering into the side streets, the area appeared to be quite decent and safe. As a bonus point to them, we were offered an earlier check-in as advertised, which we very appreciated after a mostly sleepless night of traveling to Athens.

Hungary...the completely unnecessary rooftop party on Sunday night was a bit too much. If your room is on the 6th floor, be prepared for this (the bar doesn’t close at midnight if guests keep paying. What disappointed me a little was that when I mentioned this at the reception (since we had an early flight in the morning), the only response I got was: ‘they’ll stop soon anyway.
There wouldn’t have been any problem with the accommodation or the breakfast, but…

GermanyVery close to metro station and not far away, even by foot, from majority of Athens sightseeing. Hotel staff was very friendly. Internal soundproof might be better, we heard everything from the staircase, but we were not bothered by that.

United Arab EmiratesThe elevator was small and could two people. The AC unit didn't work too well and pressing the remote didn't always work. The breakfast was very basic and crowded most mornings. There was no "close" plugs to the bed as stated. My wires didn't reach. There is no tea or coffee facilities in the room or water as most hotels provide. The walls are very thin and you can hear when someone runs their water in another room. Guests are not so mindful of others and you can hear their conversation.
The location was very close to a metro and short 15+ minutes walk to the local sites for history. There is the hop on and off bus stop very close by. Bread factory is close by for breakfast or coffee with others in good proximity. The room was spacious and had a balcony. AC was in the room. Towels came fresh and wrapped daily. Shampoo and soap in abundance.

United KingdomThe bed is small and to be polite is just awful. I've stayed in so many places ranging from hostels to luxurious hotels, the bed in this hotel is the worst by faaar. It feels like it will fall apart every time you switch sides, horrible squeaking sound is your least worry when you add to that the noise of motors and cars from the street. I normally don't like leaving negative reviews but I was surprised how old the beds are.
The staff were kind and helpful! The location is the key advantage of the hotel as it's very close to the metro station and the city centre. If you are on a extremely tight budget you can ignore the disadvantages.

AustraliaBreakfast was more than adequate, I would say a good Greek breakfast with everything one needs - and more helpings; Room was good, balcony with views of acropolis and hills, beds were very comfortable, ironing board in cupboard & borrow iron from reception; bathroom was slightly small but very clean and fresh towels daily; location was great - taxi stand and subway entrance around the corner, bakery/good coffee/traditional food next door, restaurants nearby; walk to Thissio and Acropolis.
